Doug Varone and Dancers to Perform at 2017 Jacob's Pillow

New York City's famed Doug Varone and Dancers will perform at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival at the Ted Shawn Theater, 358 George Carter Road, Becket, MA 01223, from August 2-6, 2017 with performances Wednesday-Saturday at 8pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Gidon Kremer, Julia Wolfe, ICE and More Set for BAC's Fall 2017 Music Lineup

Baryshnikov Arts Center's (BAC) Fall 2017 music presentations include BAC Salon: Telemann, Farrin, Wolfe + Prokofiev featuring the New York premiere of a work by Julia Wolfe (October 5 and 6); violin virtuoso Gidon Kremer performing Mieczyslaw Weinberg's 24 Preludes, Op. 100 (October 31 and November 1); and BAC Salon: Pauline Oliveros featuring IONE and International Contemporary Ensemble (November 28).

Bang on a Can and the Jewish Museum's 2017-18 concert season, which will focus on pioneering female artists, begins on July 20 with a performance featuring the distinctive and exceptional indie-guitarist Kaki King.

The Crossing presents World Premiere of Michael Gordon's Major New Choral Memoir ANONYMOUS MAN

Anonymous Man is Michael Gordon's first concert-length solo choral work. It was commissioned by The Crossing and written for the choir's 24 voices. Gordon merges subtle rhythmic invention with incredible power in his music, embodying, in the words of The New Yorker's Alex Ross, 'the fury of punk rock, the nervous brilliance of free jazz and the intransigence of classical modernism.'

Announcing Baryshnikov Arts Center's Fall 2017 Season

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2017 performance and residency series, which runs September 21 through December 15 and features an exciting lineup of international artists and cross-border collaborations. Dance presentations by choreographers Dorothee Munyaneza, Roy Assaf, and Kota Yamazaki-originally from Rwanda, Israel, and Japan, respectively-are infused with their creators' personal, geographic, and cultural influences.

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE to Feature Dances by Feld, Careless and More

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE, called 'a New York City treasure' by The New York Times, makes its annual visit to The Joyce for six performances, June 8-11.   The remarkably poised, scrupulously schooled, and impeccably rehearsed whiz-kids, numbering 60, ages 11-17, will delight audiences young and old with Feld classics Meshugana Dance and The Jig is Up, along with two Feld works created especially for Kids Dance: Upside Dance and the new Pointing, a premiere for four young ladies en pointe.

Ivo van Hove, Diane Paulus and More Line Up for BAM's 2017 Next Wave Festival

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), today announced programming for the 2017 Next Wave Festival. The festival runs from September 14 through December 16 and comprises 31 dance, music, opera, theater, physical theater, and performance art engagements in the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, Harvey Theater, and BAM Fisher. Scroll down for the full lineup!

RITE OF SUMMER Music Festival 2017 on Governors Island Announced

Blair McMillen and Pam Goldberg are thrilled to present the seventh season of the Rite of Summer Music Festival, taking place Summer 2017 on Governors Island, New York City. Rite of Summer will present free outdoor concerts Memorial Day weekend through August.  In a locale The New York Times has called a "Playground for the Arts," the aim of the Festival is simple: to present the highest quality live performances, and to bring free contemporary classical music to as many people as possible in a relaxed, fun, outdoor setting.

Eliot Feld's KIDS DANCE Opens 6/8-11 at The Joyce

Eliot Feld remains committed to creating a repertory of dances created especially for young dancers.  For the June 8-11 season of Kids Dance, Feld will premiere one new ballet.  There will also be one new dance by Laura Careless, and a second new work by a trio of young choreographers who are graduates of or seniors at Juilliard: Conner Bormann, Riley O'Flynn, Stephanie Terasaki.
