BroadwayWorld is excited to report that Berkeley Playhouse will present the world premiere of BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL, with lyrics and book by Cheryl L. Davis (2009 Writers' Guild Award winner and Daytime Emmy Award nominee for As the World Turns), composed by Douglas J. Cohen (2005 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lyrics for Off-Broadway's Children's Letters to God, Richard Rodgers Grants and the Gilman & Conzalez-Falla Theatre Foundation Award for Off-Broadway's No Way to Treat a Lady), and conceived by Founding Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy (developer of new musical theatre works for Berkeley Playhouse including: Born And Raised, Bravado, and Just So Stories).

Goldstar, the company that gets six million people out to live entertainment more often, announces today the nominees for the Ninth Annual Goldstar National Nutcracker Award. This year, more than 65 nominees in more than 55 cities are in the running to become the best-loved Nutcracker in the U.S.

Sacramento, CA -This year the 33rd annual Elly Awards - Adult Division were announced at the candy-decorated Elks Lodge No. 6 in Sacramento on Sunday night. Named for Eleanor McClatchy, a devoted patron of the arts and former publisher of the Sacramento Bee, the Elly Awards celebrates excellence in Sacramento's local and regional community theater. A grand total of 34 Elly Awards, plus two lifetime achievement awards, were given to individuals and theaters from across a 10-county region in the Adult Division which includes Comedy, Drama, Musicals and Original Works. Sponsored by the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), this formal event was attended by nearly 300 active community theatre members and their families and friends.

Avenue Q runs from tonight, September 17 - October 11, 2015.

Legendary Off-Broadway extravaganza spawns a sequel, El Grande CIRCUS de Coca-Cola is now making its World Premiere in Los Angeles at the Skylight Theatre, and will add performances through September 30, 2015.
