WP Theater will welcome audiences back to the theater for their 2021-2022 Season, which will continue to lift up the work of Women+ theater artists in creative new ways.The 2021-22 Season kicks off August 2 – 5 with Monica Bill Barnes & Company’s Many Happy Returns, an inventive and intimate new dance piece. 

WP THEATER has announced the 15 artists selected for the 2020-2022 WP Lab. The two-year residency begins now and culminates with the biennial WP Pipeline Festival.

SHOUT!, the internationally acclaimed musical, will be streamed on Broadwayworld.com for a one-night-only, very special video event on Monday, September 21 at 7PM Eastern Time. Net proceeds from this event will benefit Amas Musical Theatre and TDF (aka Theatre Development Fund).

On Tuesday, May 19, presenters Charles Bush and Julie Halston, along with OBA President Peter Breger, announced the 10th Annual Off Broadway Alliance. The Off Broadway Alliance plans on celebrating this year's winners with a reception this Fall.

Wynn Handman, the famed New York acting teacher and Artistic Director of The American Place Theatre, died at home April 11, 2020 of Covid-19 related pneumonia. He was 97.

Actress and activist Kathy Najimy is teaming up with America's Most Produced Playwright Lauren Gunderson for a benefit reading at the Minetta Lane Theater on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 7pm. Each theater will receive a $250,000 grant.

WP Theater has announced that it is now taking applications for its 2018-2020 Lab. WP Theater is looking for female-identified or trans playwrights, directors, and producers who crave an artistic home, professional support, and the resources to launch them into the next phase of their careers to join the 2018-2020 WP Lab. The two-year residency, which culminates with the biennial WP Pipeline Festival, is currently taking applications through March 1, 2018.
