The acclaimed Second Act Series, which has presented an array of lesser-heardmusicals in concert, will present the beloved musical comedy Nunsense on Monday, March 19th. The one-night-only concert reading will star an array of former Nunsense cast members, including Helen Hayes Award-winner Patti Mariano (Original Broadway Cast of The Music Man, Godpsell, I Had A Ball, The Full Monty, 42nd Street) and Tari Kelly (Groundhog Day, Something Rotten!, Anything Goes).

A group of Kansas City opera professionals has launched a new performance company called Opera180. The new organization was co-founded by local opera production veterans Nate Wheatley and Sadie DeSantis. Organized as a 501(c)3 company, Opera180 was created to introduce the opera genre to Kansas Citians who may not be familiar with opera. In addition, the mission of Opera180 is to provide a performance pipeline for young, aspiring opera performers throughout the region who currently face an opportunity gap between college and only the large companies in major cities.

Last summer, a group form the Ohio Humanities Council visited Piqua to consider it as one of their Ohio Chautauqua sites for 2017. Unfortunately, they were not selected, but they did encourage the group to develop their own Chautauqua event. Well, give folks from Piqua a challenge and they deliver. So a dedicated committee officially began working on Piqua Chautauqua! The dates for this event will be September 19, 20 & 21, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will take place at Hance Pavilion, located in Fountain Park in Piqua.

QNEK Productions, award winning resident theatre company at the Haskell Opera House, is proud to finish their final season with a production of their signature show, Dan Goggin's Nunsense. Near and dear to many in the area, this show is sure to bring on the laughs and will certainly be 'Habit Forming!' Lynn Leimer reprises her role as Mother Superior, a star turn that has long delighted audiences, as she hangs up the habit and retires her company after 25 years. A local legend in her own right, Leimer is grateful for all of the support QNEK has received over the last two decades and looks forward to sharing this show that has meant so much to her and the community one more time.

In September, TNT opens the 2017-18 season with the Charles Busch comedy "The Tribute Artist," and also presents the playwright in a special performance of his own for one night only. In June 2018, the season concludes with the return of TNT co-founder Carl Stewart directing audience favorite Dolores Hydock in a solo performance.
