British-born, Paris-based artist ALA.NI has announced that her debut album You & I will see release in the U.S. through Missing Piece Records

Red Hot Mama - The Sophie Tucker Songbook - is the story of the first lady of show business, the 'Last of the Red Hot Mamas', whose remarkable career spanned sixty years.  It contains the music and history of burlesque, vaudeville, Broadway and Las Vegas, in a critically acclaimed One-Woman Off-Broadway musical biography of the entertainment legend, written by and starring Tony Award Nominee Sharon McNight.   The LA Times reported, 'McNight gives the performance of a lifetime as 'The Last of the Red Hot Mamas'.

Robert Lopez as "Mister Bob" performs a 70 minute journey of heartbreaking New American Standard delivered with world weary wit and warning … for the coming end of daze, accompanied by piano. Performed in a black suit…with humor even blacker.

Christchurch audiences are about to be treated to the world premiere season of the new comic-thriller, Ropable at The Court Theatre. This brand new production has been written by The Court's Artistic Director, Ross Gumbley, who is also directing the show, and Allison Horsley.

Landmark on Main Street presents Rufus Wainwright in concert at The Jeanne Rimsky Theater on Friday, April 21 at 8 PM.  

Palm Beach Gardens will add live theatre to its ever-growing cultural landscape when the PGA Arts Center opens its doors in late January.  Veteran producers Philip Roger Roy and Dana Matthow have taken a multi-year lease on the PGA Cinemas, located at 4076 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens, and are in the process of converting two of the building's six auditoria to accommodate live productions. The two theatres will seat 260 and 280 patrons respectively.  They plan to adapt a third space - which will seat approximately 160, and be available for rentals - within the next year.

By all accounts, 2016 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Fortunately for DFW audiences, the local theatre community and many of the touring productions delivered nothing short of a stellar year, setting quite a high bar for upcoming performances. As we say goodbye to another December, we'd like to look back on a handful of memories that stood out among the long list of Playbills we've gathered. And like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, these live theatre moments will be remembered as a few of our favorite things. We present this list in no particular order, and without awards or titles bestowed upon those listed. To everyone who contributed to the DFW theatre community in 2016, we thank you for sharing your time and talents with us.

WCT is bringing the silver screen back to the PIX. The Wizard Of Oz is one of Hollywood's most iconic movie musicals! It's the 1939 adaptation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz. Judy Garland plays Dorothy, a Kansas girl who feels somewhat out of place growing up on her uncle's farm. She captured hearts and imaginations with her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow, which stands out as one of the best known musical numbers of the twentieth century.

Broadway performers Deanna Doyle (Tuck Everlasting, Phantom of the Opera) and Netanel Bellaishe (Aladdin) just unveiled a new video nodding to classic movie musicals and honoring legends such as Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly, and Judy Garland. Watch Doyle & Bellaishe singing, dancing, and reminiscing about the glorious days of black and white and technicolor below!

Don't pack away your favorite Christmas sweater quite yet. You have one more opportunity to celebrate Christmas in full color: The national tour of White Christmas the musical visits Sacramento through this Sunday only. It's a quick-paced production that never quite finds its heart, but you can't deny the feel-good nostalgia associated with White Christmas, nor help but love all its impressive dance numbers. And when those barn doors finally open to reveal a gorgeous snowy landscape, the day undoubtedly becomes merry and bright.

Debbie Reynolds is, of course, most fondly remembered as a star of musicals on stage and screen - but Reynolds did much more for Hollywood beyond standing in front of its shining lights. She is responsible for saving many of the items we today consider priceless historical artifacts, including an iconic pair of Dorothy's ruby slippers.
