Rund 40 Jahre spater macht Andrew Lloyd Webber aus diesem Stoff ein Musical, das mittlerweile selbst ein Klassiker geworden ist. Der Oper Dortmund ist es gelungen, die international gefeierte Pia Douwes fur diese Rolle zu gewinnen. Regie fuhrt Gil Mehmert, der nach Jesus Christ Superstar abermals einen Webber-Welterfolg in Dortmund in Szene setzt.

The Skirball Cultural Center presents its sixth Into the Night - a nighttime, outdoor celebration that combines live performances, hands-on activities, and after-dark access to the Skirball Museum galleries. Taking place tonight Friday, July 17, at 8:00 p.m., this edition of Into the Night features synth-pop band Tamaryn as they play to a live liquid light show by the Joshua Light Show. Interactive poetry and art making, a photo booth, and specialty cocktails top off this special event. Additional special guests to be announced.

Before the clones attacked, before the Na'vi Hometree was destroyed, before Buzz Lightyear went to infinity and beyond, avant-garde film and video pioneers were expanding the bounds of the moving image by harnessing computer technology to create radical new ways of seeing. Museum of the Moving Image will present a weekend program devoted to exploring early works of computer animation, organized by guest curators Leo Goldsmith and Gregory Zinman. This series of screenings and conversations, Computer Age: Early Computer Movies, 1952-1987, will take place today, November 15 through 17, 2013. Screenings include avant-garde works ranging from oscilloscope experiments to computer-assisted psychedelia; formative digital advertising and music videos; as well as feature films that incorporated these techniques into the mainstream.

Drawing inspiration from the 19th-century German fairytale Snow White and McCarthy's ongoing exploration of American myths and icons, WS takes over the Armory's Wade Thompson Drill Hall from today, June 19 through August 4, 2013, and marks the Armory's seventh major visual art installation to date.

Drawing inspiration from the 19th-century German fairytale Snow White and McCarthy's ongoing exploration of American myths and icons, WS takes over the Armory's Wade Thompson Drill Hall from June 19 through August 4, 2013, and marks the Armory's seventh major visual art installation to date. The monumental installation weaves together a fantastical forest and a three-quarter-scale house modeled after McCarthy's own childhood home with multi-channel video projections to immerse visitors in a world of fantasy and depravity. A press preview for WS will be held at the Armory on June 18, 2013.

Museum Information Hours The Museum is open daily, 10 am-5:45 pm. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Space Show Hours Space Shows are shown Monday through Friday every half hour, 10:30 am- 4:30 pm except Wednesdays (first show on Wednesday begins at 11 am). Saturday through Sunday, every half hour, 10:30 am-5 pm. Admission Suggested general admission, which supports the Museum's scientific and educational endeavors and includes 46 Museum halls and the Rose Center for Earth and Space, is $16 (adults) suggested; $12 (students/seniors) suggested; $9 (children) suggested. The Museum offers discounted combination ticket prices that include suggested general admission plus special exhibitions, IMAX films, and Space Shows. o Museum plus special exhibition, IMAX film, or Space Show: $24 (adults), $18 (students/seniors), $14 (children) Museum Supersaver, which includes the Space Show, IMAX, and all special exhibitions: $32 (adults), $24.50 (students/seniors), $20 (children)
