Broadway LeAps Onstage to Hold Benefit Concert

Broadway LeAps Onstage, a concert to benefit LeAp (Learning through an Expanded Arts Program) OnStage, will be held Thursday, November 13th at 8pm at the Davenport Theatre. The event, raising funds and awareness of theatre arts education in underprivileged schools in New York, will feature composers and performers such as Scott Alan ('Anything Worth Holding on To'), Drew Gasparini (Crazy, Just Like Me), Anna Bergman (Lincoln Center's American Songbook), and Jessica Vosk (The Bridges of Madison County).
Damon Intrabartolo's POP NATION, with Anthony Fedorov, Delays Performances Until Mid December

BroadwayWorld has just learned that POP NATION, a theatrical social event merging music, theater and the nightclub experience, has delayed performances at Hudson (356 W. 58th Street at 9th Avenue). THe show was previously set to begin previews on November 14th with opening night set for January 8th. POP NATION has original music and lyrics by Damon Intrabartolo (bare, 'Superman Returns,' 'X Men 2') and book by Kenny Finkle (Indoor/Outdoor). A press representative has confirmed that the show will now begin in mid December because 'mounting the massive production has taken longer than expected.'

Jennifer Leigh Green (Broadway's Wicked, Bare, TV's Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Josh Tolle (NYMF's Searching for Romeo) will join Broadway and Off-Broadway talent in BROADWAY'S EPIC FAIL, a two night-concert to bring you more songs from movies that should never be musicals. The evenings will be hosted by Jen Eden.

Directed by Laura Josepher with a cast including Zal Owen ('Fiddler on the Roof'), Natalie Newman ('Grease'), and Justine Magnusson ('Whistle Down the Wind'), the world premiere will be presented as an official selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival at the PTC Performance Space (555 West 42nd Street, New York, NY) for a limited five performances on: Tonight, July 8 at 8:00pm; Thursday, July 10 at 5:00pm; Friday, July 11 at 9:00pm; Saturday, July 12 at 5:00pm; and Sunday, July 13 at 12:00pm. Rehearsals begin this weekend for a Musical Theatre Factory development workshop of composer Zoe Sarnak's THE YEARS BETWEEN, an exploration of New York millennials set to a rock, folk, pop and soul score. Featuring Lilli Cooper (Spring Awakening), Laura Dreyfuss (Once), Amber Iman (Soul Doctor), Gabe Violet (Spring Awakening), Taylor Noble (A Lasting Impression), and Josh Tolle (Next to Normal at Drury Lane), the workshop will be directed by opera director Kevin Newbury, choreographed by Jason Sparks, and music directed by Andy Einhorn (Cinderella, Bullets Over Broadway). Jen Hoguet is producing in collaboration with Musical Theatre Factory.
