Celebrating over 20 years of successful Disney shows on Broadway, the West End and around the World, including smash hits such as Mary Poppins, The Lion King and Aladdin, as well as shorter-running productions, King David, Tarzan and Aida, an all-star cast brought the magic of the movies to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall last night, in the European premiere of Disney's Broadway Hits.

The Community Theatre of Little Rock will continue its 61st Season with its Halloween production of 'Young Frankenstein: The Musical' by Mel Brooks. Show dates are October 14th-16th, 21st-23rd and 28th-30th, to be held at The Studio Theatre, 320 West 7th Street in Downtown Little Rock.

John Barrowman has been confirmed as the performing emcee for the European premiere of Disney's Broadway Hits at the Royal Albert Hall next month, as a small number of extra tickets are released for this hugely popular show.

Steppenwolf's LookOut and Second City Theatricals have teamed up to re-create a staged-reading of the smash hit musical, 'The People vs. Friar Laurence, the Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet' as part of Shakespeare 400 Chicago tonight, June 25 and tomorrow, June 26 at 8:00pm.

On Sunday, May 29, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts hosted the fourth annual Nevada High School Musical Theater Awards, recognizing the extraordinary talent and sheer dedication found in Nevada's high school theater students. Today in 2006, Tarzan opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it ran for 486 performances. Tarzan: The Musical is based on the Disney film of the same name and the story by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The songs are written by Phil Collins and David Zippel, with a book by David Henry Hwang. The production was nominated for a Tony award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Natasha Katz). The cast Featured Josh Strickland, Jennifer Gambatese, Shuler Hensley, Merle Dandridge and Chester Gregory.

On Monday, April 4, The Smith Center for the Performing Arts drew back the curtains to present the third annual Disney Musicals in Schools Student Share Celebration inside Reynolds Hall. Hosted by Las Vegas headliner and former Disney Broadway star Josh Strickland, the event featured performances inspired by four Disney classics-The Lion King, Aladdin, The Jungle Book and Winnie the Pooh-that were presented by six elementary schools from the Las Vegas Valley. A who's-who of entertainers and personalities will join Mark Shunock, star of 'Rock of Ages' at The Venetian Las Vegas and creator/producer of Mondays Dark, for the Mondays Dark two-year anniversary celebration taking place on Monday, Dec. 14 (doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m.) at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, theatre couple Josh Strickland and Todd Dubail tied the knot last weekend at the home of friend, Holly Madison. BroadwayWorld sends our congratulations to the happy couple!
