BroadwayWorld has learned that Jose Llana (THE KING AND I), Ann Harada (AVENUE Q), Ali Ewoldt (THE KING AND I), and more will lead "Changing the Stats: Asian Americans on Broadway." The show will be a concert of excerpts from dream roles not traditionally cast with Asian American actors on Monday, November 2 at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space.

Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director) has a well-earned reputation for launching both performers and shows for the Great White Way.  Since their inception in 1996, the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre have ignited the careers of many notable performers, all of whom attended high school in New Jersey.  Among the early nominees and winners are Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Tony Award winners Laura Benanti (Gypsy) and Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), Tony nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin), and UK Olivier Award nominee Jared Gertner (The Book of Mormon - West End)  The 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 2, at 7:30pm, featuring presenters from Broadway and beyond. Union High School won the coveted title of Outstanding Overall Production and left Paper Mill Playhouse with a total of nine Rising Star Awards.  

To celebrate its 20-year milestone, the 2015 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards will be broadcast live online and available on HomeTowne Television.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation held its fourth annual holiday gala, 'Night of Dreams,' at Celsius, a one-of-a-kind winter restaurant, lounge, and event space within the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park (5th Ave and 42nd Street) last night, November 24, 2014. The 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, presented by the National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT), kicked off with THE 46TH MINUTE, a concert hosted by Lindsay Mendez and featuring performances by Heidi Blickenstaff, Doreen Montalvo, Mamie Parris, Bryce Ryness, and more. Musical presentations started October 23 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and included Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton. The National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT) is proud to announce final casting for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals. Michael Cassara Casting serves as the resident casting office for the 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, taking place on Thursday, October 23, 2014 and Friday, October 24, 2014 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Online Festival registration ends Friday, October 17.

The 2014 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards ceremony took place at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm with an audience of over 1,200. Princeton Day School came out on top, winning Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical for their production of Urinetown. A total of 29 awards were presented along with five scholarships and other cash prizes.

The Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company today announced that the Special Guests for the 14th Annual Benefit The Understudy's Evening - Tomorrow's Stars Today will be F. Murray Abraham, Carolee Carmello and Euan Morton who will serve as the evening's Auctioneer. The gala will take place on Monday May 19th (from 6:30pm) at Manhattan Penthouse (80 Fifth Avenue at 14th Street).
