 Animal Planet announced the acquisition of worldwide television rights to Participant and Terra Mater Factual Studios' documentary film WATSON, which chronicles Sea Shepherd founder Captain Paul Watson, who has spent his life sailing the globe to keep our oceans and their inhabitants safe. WATSON had its World Premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, where it was runner-up for the Documentary Audience Award. Additional screenings this year will include Zurich Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival and Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, among others. WATSON premieres on Animal Planet later this year. The film will open in select U.S. theaters this fall.

Sundance Institute today announced Fellows and Advisors for the five-day 2019 Creative Producing Labs, as well as the three-day Creative Producing Summit which immediately follows; both take place at Utah's Sundance Mountain Resort. Netflix has announced that they have acquired the global rights to director Theo Love's documentary feature, The Legend of Cocaine Island. The film, previously titled White Tide: The Legend of Culebra, premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival where it was enthusiastically embraced by audiences and critics who referred to the film as one of the most compulsively watchable documentaries in years.
