'The Book of Mormon' may be outrageous, irreverent, and puerile in the extreme, but the most offensive thing about this insipid show is its insulting lack of wit.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films Old Vic Productions and NETworks Presentations, LLC bring the multi-award-winning Billy Elliot the Musical to Segerstrom Center for the Arts from April 16 - 28, 2013. Based on the international smash-hit film and featuring music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, choreography by Peter Darling and direction by Stephen Daldry, Billy Elliot the Musical has earned critical acclaim around the world and was the winner of ten 2009 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

Stage One, the charity that supports new UK theatre producers and productions, has just announced the latest recipient to receive its Start-Up Investment Fund. James Quaife has been awarded £50,000 by the charity to co-produce alongside established producers MJE Productions, a new comedy, Barking in Essex by Clive Exton. The production will open at London's Wyndham Theatre on the 6th September 2013 and will star Lee Evans, Sheila Hancock and Keeley Hawes.

The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR) has announced the release of the second edition of Shaken Faith Syndrome: Strengthening One's Testimony in the Face of Criticism and Doubt. Author Michael R. Ash, a veteran member of FAIR, released the first edition of Shaken Faith Syndrome in 2008 as a source for Mormons who were struggling with their faith because of LDS-critical claims. Ash said, "As attacks against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are becoming more pervasive, members and investigators of the Church are finding an increasing need for answers to troubling questions." He added, "I frequently receive emails from distraught members who were on the verge of abandoning their faith. Thankfully my book was helpful in resuscitating their religious convictions."

Alumnae Theatre Company's production of The Drowning Girls runs approximately 75 minutes. There is no intermission. Opening Night & Gala will take place tonight, November 17, 2012. The show runs from Friday November 17 through Saturday December 1, 2012, according to the following schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 8:00pm; Sunday matinee at 2:00pm. Talkback with cast & director will take place after the matinee on November 25.

After graduating from the program in 1998, they teamed up with director Charlie Tomlinson to write The Drowning Girls, a play based on a real-life Scotland Yard serial murder known as the "Brides in the Bath" case.

Alumnae Theatre Company just announced that the opening of their production the Drowning Girls has to be postponed due to a family emergency with one of the cast members, it is unfortunately necessary to postpone the opening of The Drowning Girls by one day. There will be no performance on Friday November 16; instead the show will open on Saturday November 17.

And for those keeping track, the company is closing in on Alumnae's 100th birthday - February 2013 will mark # 95! Alumnae will officially celebrate its 100th season in 2019/2020 and present Moliere's Les Femmes Savantes, which was Alumnae Theatre's very first production, in February 1918.
