Tony Award winner Bobby Lopez ("Book of Mormon," "Avenue Q") and Broadway actor Jose Llana ("…Spelling Bee," "Here Lies Love"), alongside fellow theater actors with Filipino ethnicity Ching Valdes-Aran ("Smash," "Flipzoids") and Brian Jose ("Miss Saigon," "Imelda"), are nominated for this year's The Outstanding Filipino Americans in New York (TOFA-NY) Awards, whose awarding ceremony will be held at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, October 26.

On September 30 (7pm), some of Broadway's biggest stars will sing a song or tell their story at an intimate Salon benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at 210 Central Park South. Among the performers scheduled to appear are Maya Days, Meghann Fahy, Felicia Finley, Jose Llana, Andrea McArdle, N'Kenge, Chris Noth, Kate Shindle, Christopher Sieber and Kevin Spirtas.

The Public Theater's production of the new musical LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, the second show of The Public's 2013 free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte, recently began previews on July 23. Directed by Alex Timbers, LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST features songs by Michael Friedman with book adaptation by Timbers and will run through Sunday, August 18, and opened last night, August 12. The Public Theater presents the critically acclaimed world premiere musical Here Lies Love, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrneand Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, Here Lies Love officially opened on Tuesday, April 23 and was extended a fourth and final time to today, July 28.

Organized by Filipino Mundo-NYC, a meetup group of young professionals and visual/performing artists, and the Filipino American Press Club of New York, The Public Theater's 'Here Lies Love' cast members: Ruthie Ann Miles, Jose Llana, George Salazar, Jaygee Macapugay, Debralee Daco, Jeigh Madjus, Renee Albulario, Melody Butiu, Nathaniel P. Claridad, Carol Angeli and Maria-Christina Oliveras engaged in a public conversation about the infamous legacy of former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos and his wife, Imelda, during a coffee break (kapihan) held at Ugly Kitchen in the East Village Saturday, July 20.

HERE LIES LOVE is set to close at the Public Theater's downtown home on Sunday night, and the theater company is looking into 'design options for an array of theater spaces and negotiating with Broadway and downtown theater producers about remounting the show in the near future,' according to The New York Times. Oskar Eustis told NYT that an announcement about the show's future could come as early as next month.

Manhattan Concert Productions has just announced the second installment of its Broadway Series, with a concert performance of the critically acclaimed Broadway musical, TITANIC, for one night only at New York's renowned Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday, February 17, 2014.

As BroadwayWorld previously confirmed, HERE LIES LOVE's artistic director Oskar Eustis is currently in talks to deliver the musical a 'future life' - and according to Baz Bamigboye at The Daily Mail, that may mean a 2014 West End transfer for The Public Theater's breakout production.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed with a Public Theater representative that though a transfer of the show is not yet official, artistic director Oskar Eustis is currently in talks for a 'future life' for the new musical.

Her new program, 'Back to Before,' is a nostalgic repertoire in which she revisits her life as a New Yorker and pays tribute to her favorite ladies-most notably Ella Fitzgerald and her idol, Barbra Streisand. 'Back to Before' will be making its debut at the Cafe Carlyle. Ms. Salonga's engagement at the Cafe Carlyle will run from tonight, May 21st to June 8th.

In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association and ReImagined World Entertainment presented 'The Asian American Composers and Lyricists Project,' a free evening of original works created and sung by Asian American theatre artists.
