The Cleveland Orchestra announced updates to its inaugural Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Opera & Humanities Festival: The American Dream, which takes place this spring at Severance Music Center and with Cleveland partner organizations.

The family-friendly Bay Area holiday favorite The Jewelry Box comes to the Altarena Playhouse. Performed by Brian Copeland, who has been hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as 'among the Bay Area's most honest, thoughtful and eloquent storytellers,' and directed by David Ford, this hilariously heartwarming story follows a young Brian as he heads to the 'mean streets' of Oakland to buy his mom a Christmas present.

The 2018 McCammon Voice Competition judges have chosen the semi-finalists for the eighteenth biennial competition, to be held on March 16, 2018 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The finals will be held March 17, 2018 at Bass Performance Hall. This year's competitors are David Araujo, Amanda Blue, Nicolette Book, Ryan Bradford, Rachael Braustein, Kathleen Buccleugh, Chelsea Coyne, Danielle Davis, Peter Scott Drackley, Helen Huang, Hao Hu, Emily Michiko Jensen, Abigail Kempson, Chonghwa Kim, Abigail Levis, Brandon Morales, Elizabeth Moran, Langelihle Mngxati, Chong Yoon Noh, Brittany Nickell, Yulan Piao, Anthony Reed, Michael St. Peter and Andrew Wannigman.

Apotheosis Opera presents its second production, a fully-staged English-language production of GIACOMO PUCCINI'S masterpiece LA FANCIULLA DEL WEST (The Girl of the Golden West), tonight, July 22 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, July 24, at 3pm at the theatre of El Museo del Barrio (1230 5th Avenue). The Indianapolis Opera will premiere Giacomo Puccini's The Girl of the Golden West at Clowes Memorial Hall on the campus of Butler University for two performances only on Friday, Mar. 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday Mar. 23 at 2 p.m.
