Dutch Musical Awards Ceremony Returns Today

The John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards Gala, the Dutch equivalent to Broadway's Tony Awards, return today, November 25th, the organization of the awards announced today. Last year the awards were not handed out after years of controversy regarding the awards and the ceremony culminated. The upcoming ceremony will feature changes with respect to previous years, details of which have not yet been made public.
Uschi Neuss Becomes Managing Director of Stage Entertainment Germany

The Board of Directors of Stage Entertainment has informed today management and staff of Stage Entertainment Germany about the decision that Johannes Mock-O'Hara steps down as managing director of Stage Entertainment Germany with immediate effect, leaving the company per December 31, 2013. As of today Uschi Neuss, our present Director Theatre Operations, will assume the role of managing director.

The John Kraaijkamp Musical Awards ceremony, the Dutch equivalent to Broadway's Tony Awards, will return November 25th after a one-year absence, the organization of the awards announced today. The chaotic 2011 ceremony sparked an avalanche of criticism, after which the 2012 ceremony was cancelled altogether and changes were made to the nomination process and ceremony.
Henk Kivits Steps Down as CEO of Stage Entertainment Group Today

Joop Van Den Ende and Henk Kivits have jointly agreed that Mr Kivits will step down as CEO of Stage Entertainment Group today, 31 July 2013. Mr Kivits decided not to accept Joop Van Den Ende's offer to extend his contract as CEO of the interNational Theatre Company by an additional two years. Kivits has been CEO since 1 August 2007.

Stage Entertainment have announced it will start a nationwide search for young boys to take on the title role in a Dutch production of Billy Elliot. A training program has been devised with the purpose to convince the English creatives that indeed there are sufficient boys of sufficient talent to guarantee a succesful run of the show in the Netherlands.

In response to the news that the UK touring production of DADDY COOL was cancelled, the tour's co-producer Albert Verlinde Entertainment (AVE) has stated it was "surprised by the late decision of the English producers".
