Stories from the queer disability community will transform the Toronto stage this Pride! Andrew Gurza, Frank Hull, and Ken Harrower will be giving the city exclusive (and inclusive) access to their lives as gay disabled men in Access Me, a fun, queer disability sex-positive performance that earned the inaugural SummerWorks Jon Kaplan Spotlight Award in 2017.

The Theatre Centre welcomed audiences, artists and neighbours to the venue for a community meal celebrating its 22/23 programming year. In addition to announcing works on offer throughout the year — Rimah Jabr's Broken Shapes, Sea Sick by Alanna Mitchell, the third edition of Comedy is Art, and Ian Kamau's Loss — artist-podcaster Falen Johnson and artist Lorena Torres Loaiza were presented with the 2022 Patrick Conner Award and Ticket respectively. 

The Theatre Centre is back with a new look and an exciting year of hybrid programming. The theatre will open its doors to the public for the first time since March 2020 for Comedy is Art—part live comedy festival, part digital production—from October 26 to October 30, 2021.

This year, The Theatre Centre is embarking on what may be the most ambitious year of creation in its history. They will be supporting an unprecedented 16 projects led by 20 artists; creating two new development streams and more.

Cahoots Theatre announced its 33rd season today, including one world premiere and the return of an audience favourite. Programmed by Outgoing Artistic Director Marjorie Chan, the season explores the transcendent power of love through generational struggles, trauma, and even time and space. With productions featuring South East Asian artists, Cahoots continues to investigate questions of where we come from, and where we want to go in theatrical, dynamic styles.

At a press conference held May 28 in the Davies Takacs Lobby of the Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 282 nominations for the 40th Anniversary Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto. On Tuesday, June 25 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, 49 Dora Mavor Moore Awards, the Silver Ticket Award and the Jon Kaplan Audience Choice Award will be presented.

Following the Dora-Nominated hit BLACK BOYS, SAGA COLLECTIF returns with Ho Ka Kei (Jeff Ho)'s IPHIGENIA AND THE FURIES (ON TAURIAN LAND), a vital new adaptation of the rarely performed IPHIGENIA AMONG THE TAURIANS by Euripides. The World Premiere production will be presented from January 6 to January 20, 2019 at Aki Studio (Opening Night January 10).

Artistic Director Evalyn Parry announced an exciting line-up for Buddies in Bad Times Theatre's 2017/18 season today. The season presents a series of engaging, timely productions that grapple with questions of race, indigeneity, sex, queerphobia, religion, and climate change.

lemonTree creations presents the touring production of MSM [men seeking men], a dance theatre piece inspired by transcripts of online conversations between men seeking other men. This all-queer cast explores hook-up culture, fetishism, racism, homophobia and straight-up sex.

He invites DJ Scooter (of New York & Toronto Cub Camp party fame) to spin live at each performance. Through movement, the piece deconstructs online male personas and their personal exchanges with other men.
