Actor's Express is extending its production of Jonathan Larson's Rent for a second time through August 22, 2015. Since opening on July 10, Rent has played to sold out houses and rave reviews from audiences and local publications.

Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) proudly presents the inspiring, all-teen production of Rent September 18 & 19 at The Hobby Center.  Winner of the TONY Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. 

San Francisco Playhouse opens its thirteenth Mainstage season with the San Francisco premiere of the musical Dogfight, directed by Bill English. The show will feature Jeffrey Brian Adams* (Promises, Promises), Jordan Bridges, Caitlin Brooke, Nikita Burshteyn, Brandon Dahlquist*, Sally Dana*, Kathryn Hart, Andrew Humann, Amy Lizardo*, AeJay Mitchell, and Michael Gene Sullivan*.

Ghostlight Records will record the Original Cast Album of Be More Chill, the new musical which recently had its world premiere production at Two River Theater, Red Bank, NJ. Be More Chill has music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, book by Joe Tracz and is based on the novel by Ned Vizzini. The show was directed by Stephen Brackett with Chase Brock serving as choreographer. Also available on Ghostlight is the cast recording of Things To Ruin - The Songs of Joe Iconis and The Joe Iconis Rock and Roll Jamboree. New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) has announced the playwrights and directors selected for the 2015/16 season 2050 Fellowship. The playwrights are Nathan Alan Davis, Hansol Jung and Patricia Ione Lloyd and the directors are Noelle Ghoussaini, Alexandru Mihail and Danya Taymor. 

There's no day like today for Highway Run Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co to announce the hugely anticipated cast line up of upcoming 1990's cult musical RENT playing from October 8 at the Hayes Theatre Co.

And Sondra Morton, Jayme Smith and co. (that would be Act Too) stages their company's latest work at the historic Franklin Theatre - The Sound of Music - starring Kimberly Rye as Maria, Cameron Bortz as Rolf and the inimitable Matt Baugher as Georg Von Trapp. Check it out!

Eden Espinosa, star of Broadway's Wicked, Rent, and Brooklyn, will headline EDEN ESPINOSA AND FRIENDS, a concert to benefit Legacy Theatre on Thursday, July 16th at 7:00pm. The concert will take place at the Owenego Inn & Beach Club, located at 40 Linden Avenue in Branford, Connecticut. Following the smash success of last year's sold-out WITNESS UGANDA: IN CONCERT, Jonathan Larson Award-winning composer Matt Gould will host the performance, featuring a cast of Broadway stars. No one tried to plug their cell phones into an outlet on the stage last night at Idina Menzel's World Tour concert. Maybe that's because it wasn't a Broadway house, but a concert venue in New Jersey's suburbs. But, some might think it was Broadway based on the set list for her solo show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel Sunday night.  

Dramatists Guild Fund President Andrew Lippa and Executive Director Rachel Routh announced today that Laurence O'Keefe will Co-Chair the nonprofit's Fellows Program.  

Bay City Players will present RENT, with Book, Music and Lyrics by Jonathan Larson. Performance dates are August 14 - 16, 2015 at the Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Avenue, in Bay City. Performance times are 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Due to popular demand, Actor's Express has extended its production of Jonathan Larson's Rent through August 16, 2015. Performances of Rent are Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 PM and 8 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM.
