Sean Mathias will direct Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot which is his first production as Artistic Director of the 2009 Theatre Royal Haymarket Company. Waiting for Godot will tour the UK prior to its opening in London in April.

Jim Creighton, David Haig, James Hayes, Doon Mackichan and Javone Prince will join previously announced Matt Di Angelo in Joe Orton's Loot, directed by Sean Holmes at the Tricycle Theatre. Loot will run from 11 December - 31 January with press night on 15 December.

Samuel West will direct Harley Granville Barker's Waste, which runs at the Almeida from 25 September - 15 November 2008, with press night on 2 October. Designs are by Peter McKintosh with lighting by Guy Hoare and sound by John Leonard.

The final production in Jonathan Kent's Theatre Royal Haymarket Season, the world premiere of MARGUERITE, will close tonight, September 13th on the West End. MARGUERITE is a new musical with music by Michel Legrand, book by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg and Jonathan Kent, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer - original French lyrics by Alain Boublil and orchestrations and arrangements by Michel Legrand and Seann Alderking.

The final production in Jonathan Kent's Theatre Royal Haymarket Season will be the world premiere of 'Marguerite' a new musical starring Ruthie Henshall, Julian Ovenden, and Alexander Hanson. 'Marguerite' will begin performances on May 7th.

Jo Stone-Fewings will take over the role of Richard Hannay from Monday 28 April in Maria Aitken's Olivier award-winning hit production of The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre. Stone-Fewings most recently played the role of Sparkish to great acclaim in The Country Wife - the first production in Jonathan Kent's Theatre Royal Haymarket Season. He will join a cast comprising Josefina Gabrielle, Martyn Ellis and long standing cast member Simon Gregor. The 39 Steps, currently playing on Broadway at the Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre, will transfer to the Cort Theater from April 29 for an extended run. As well as productions on tour in the UK, in Israel, Italy and South Africa, the Melbourne Theatre Company production opens in Australia in April, with a production in Korea scheduled to open in September. In addition a further fifteen countries are scheduled to present the play over the next twelve months. To date the London production of The 39 Steps has grossed over £5 million. Best known as Hitchcock's 1935 classic movie thriller, The 39 Steps is directed by Maria Aitken, has designs by Peter McKintosh, lighting design is by Ian Scott, sound design by Mic Pool, and movement by Olivier Award winning Toby Sedgwick. The 39 Steps is presented by Edward Snape for Fiery Angel Ltd and Tricycle London Productions Ltd in association with the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Prior to the opening performances of Marguerite and for one night only - Sunday April 13 at 7PM - jazz legend and triple Oscar-winning composer Michel Legrand will give a rare London concert performing his own work accompanied by two of the world's top jazz musicians.
