The White House Correspondents' Association? just held its Centennial dinner on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Founded in 1914 to represent the White House press corps, the association marks its centennial this year. It works to maintain independent news media coverage of the president, advocating for access, handling logistics for pools of reporters who stay close to the president and those who travel with him, and providing scholarships to journalism students. The Creative Coalition's annual benefit dinner was held on Friday, May 2, 2014 to promote continuing support for the arts in America. Members of The Creative Coalition spent that day on Capitol Hill advocating for public support of the arts and arts in education.
