Pittsburgh Symphony Begins POP Season With THE MUSIC OF JOHN WILLIAMS

The 2016-2017 PNC Pops season begins with a bang as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and guest conductor Lawrence Loh take the audience to worlds beyond imagination with "The Music of John Williams" on September 30 through October 2 at Heinz Hall.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey Performing Arts Center announce a performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in Concert on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 2 pm at NJPAC in Newark. The NJSO will perform, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition while hearing the orchestra perform Oscar winner John Williams' unforgettable score.

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra And Cincinnati Pops Announce Two World Tours In 2017

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September. The Orchestra will be on tour for five total weeks in 2017, performing in 12 cities across seven different countries.

York Symphony Orchestra to Present First Concert of the 2016-2017 Season

 The York Symphony Orchestra will present, "The Music of John Williams: 85th Birthday Celebration" onSaturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. The performance will feature popular movie soundtracks in celebration of legendary film composer John Williams' 85th birthday. This Pops Series concert will kick off the orchestra's 2016-2017 season, A Musical Journey Through Time.

Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin Plays Solo Debut and Lang Lang in Beethoven

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Beethoven's Symphony No. 5; Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta; and Ligeti's Mysteries of the Macabre, for Trumpet and Orchestra, featuring Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin in his Philharmonic solo debut, Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. Alan Gilbert and the Orchestra will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, with Lang Lang as soloist; Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta; and Ligeti's Mysteries of the Macabre, with Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin as soloist, Thursday, October 6, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 8 at 8:00 p.m.

North American Debut of Original Compositions to be Performed in Concert by Nicolas Mazmanian

Award-winning French composer and pianist Nicolas Mazmanian will give his first piano recital in North America, French Reflections on the American Dream, at the Colburn School's Mayman Hall in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday, September 9, 2016. The program features Mazmanian's original classical compositions for piano, which invite the audience into a world of fantasy, dreams, and inner romanticism. Mazmanian's accessible melodic music reflects the strong influence of French, Armenian, and American composers.
