The Houston Symphony and Music Director Andr s Orozco-Estrada announced today details of the 2018-19 season, which marks Orozco-Estrada's fifth year as music director. The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to The Overture Center with Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert, the second film in the Harry Potter series. On June 16 at 8:00 p.m. and June 17 at 1:00 p.m. Madison Symphony Orchestra will perform John Williams' unforgettable score live from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen.
The next three months hold debut performances for Keitaro Harada with four symphonies. February 1 and 2, Harada will step in for Berkeley Symphony's Music Director Joanna Carneiro as she awaits the birth of her fourth child. The program includes Faur 's Cantique de Jean Racine, Gordon Getty's Joan and the Bells and Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. He, then, heads to Memphis Symphony to conduct E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial Live in Concert followed by a quick trip to Japan for a return to Suntory Hall to conduct The Music of John Williams: Star Wars and Beyond with Tokyo Philharmonic.
