The award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company announces its 2016 Cape May Mainstage Season. As usual, it includes classic gems, a NJ premiere, and a radio show. This year's theme is 'Love Bites.'

The 5th Avenue Theatre and ACT- A Contemporary Theatre are kicking off the presidential election with a bang, presenting the landmark musical ASSASSINS with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by John Wiedman. The production will run February 27-May 8, 2016.

The Broadway @ NOCCA series first launched in early 2013 when it made the leap from its now famous summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. In this, the series' fourth season in New Orleans, the star-powered tradition continues with Michael Cerveris, 2015 Tony winner for "Fun Home" on December 14 at 7:30 PM.

URINETOWN continues The Barn Stage Company's 2015 Summer Series. After working on the national tour of MURDER FOR TWO and Disney's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, J. Scott Lapp returns to The Barn Stage Company directing this hilarious tale about the lack of water in a mythical town. The Barn Stage Company's engagement began performances on August 20 and will run through August 30, 2015, in the newly renovated Truax Building in Old Town Temecula. As the topic of guns in society becomes more and more prominent during the upcoming election season, Stephen Sondheim's controversial 1990 Off-Broadway and off-beat musical Assassins has increased in its relevancy. Rarely staged today, Assassins is an event that commands attention, and last week, we traveled to the Pico Playhouse in Los Angeles to see their version of the show, which also featured several performers familiar to Ventura County audiences.

In the film Judgement at Nuremberg, Spencer Tracy who plays the judge of the tribunals, states emphatically at the end that in the light of today's changing values, condoning these actions may seem logical, but it is not - or never is - right. Assassination is murder pure and simple. I will never condone it, even though I may understand the circumstances. I may laugh and enjoy Assassins and weigh the killers' motivations, but I will never accept them.

Presented by The Barn Stage Company, Cabaret at The Merc's Summer Series returns in August with the irreverent and award-winning musical URINETOWN. The show runs Today-Sunday for two weekends at The Truax Building in Old Town Temecula. This 2002 Tony Award winning comedy satirizes the legal system, social irresponsibility, populism, and corporate mismanagement. URINETOWN will be directed by J. Scott Lapp, with Musical Direction by Taylor Peckham and choreography by Chelsea Nicole.

Milwaukee's TheateRED begins their 2015-2016 season titled 'We All Have Blood On Our Hands,' with a World Premiere written by one of the city's acclaimed actors and directors, Angela Iannone. Iannone constructs a play, The Seed of Banquo, based on the historical facts of American theater great Edwin Booth, and yes, also the brother of the infamous John Wilkes Booth. Edwin Booth opened a theater with his namesake in 1888, and then directed, designed and starred in the plays he choose to produce. In Iannone's The Seeds of Banquo, his historical and personal stage design, prompt book and blocking were used to recreate Booth's original production, including the stage back drop, while she intermingles Booth's personal life to the point where lines in Shakespeare's Macbeth might easily be quoted by the individual Booth regarding his own relections.
