Ars Nova, under the leadership of Artistic Director Jason Eagan, will present the world premiere of the new musical BLOODSONG OF LOVE with book, music & lyrics by Joe Iconis and directed by John Simpkins. New York University's program in vocal performance will present a workshop production of the new musical Party Come Here -featuring a book by Daniel Goldfarb (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Radio Girl) and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum (Summer of '42, Vanities)-at the Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street [Subway: A, B, C, D, E, F, V (West Fourth Street)].

Joe Iconis headed into NYC's MSR Studios on February 28 with his band and the cast of his critically-acclaimed concert event Things To Ruin to lay down tracks for the show's forthcoming album. The recording, which will be released by Sh-K-Boom Records in Summer 2010, features a collection of songs by Kleban and Larson-winner Iconis as seen in Things To Ruin at off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre in May 2009.

The reading will be presented by CAP21's Theatre Company. NEXT THING YOU KNOW is by the Drama-Desk nominated creators of I LOVE YOU BECAUSE, featuring book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham and music by Joshua Salzman. The reading is directed by John Simpkins.

ncore Theater Company has announced it's upcoming New Musicals Summer Season, including the launch of it's New Musicals-In-Development initiative. Utilizing all three arms of the organization, ETC will assist a creative team in the development of a new musical over the course of one theatrical year. Next Thing You Know, by Drama Desk Nominees Joshua Salzman & Ryan Cunningham, will kick off this new developmental program. ETC will be helping the team develop their new show in association with 321 Management, Inc. and original director John Simpkins, both based out of New York City. A cold reading will take place in February as a part of ETC's Litehouse Series. Some time this spring there will be a MusicalWorld interview/feature on the show and it's creators, and the show will be fully developed in August.
