PlayhouseSquare Announces 2011-12 Children's Theater Series

Beloved children's books coming to life on stage and an unique circus performance for the whole family make up the 2011-12 Children's Theater Series, presented by the Community Engagement & Education Department at PlayhouseSquare.

New Victory Theatre Announces 2011 Fall Season

The New Victory Theater will launch its 2011-12 season with the New York premiere of The Little Prince written by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, an enchanting and faithful adaptation of the French fable by Antoine de Saint- Exupéry. In this production, creations by Monkey Boys Productions, the puppet builders behind Broadway's Avenue Q and Little Shop of Horrors, will share the stage with actors. The Little Prince will run from October 1 through October 16.

Composer, Lyricist, Playwright & Performer John Scoullar Passes Away at 62

John Scoullar, born in Providence, R.I., July 26,1949 has passed away after a short illness. A composer, lyricist, playwright and performer, John's work has been enjoyed for more than 40 years around the country. With Rick Cummins, he wrote the musical and dramatic adaptations of Antoine St. Exupery's 'The Little Prince' which will open The New Victory Theater's fall season this October 2011. With playwright Joseph Kavanagh he wrote 'Old Fashion Bargain Days' at Playwright's Horizon, 'Canticle' at Hartman Conservatory Theatre, the musical 'The Legend of Finn McCool and 'Hello, Dears' in which he starred in at the Players Theatre.

Bristol Riverside Theatre Closes HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS 12/22

Kick off the holiday season at Bristol Riverside Theatre with Home For The Holidays , the eighth annual winter musicale concert, on December 11-22. This family program presents favorite holiday songs from yesterday and today, including traditional carols, popular classics, contemporary arrangements and original songs to celebrate the spirit of the season. Directed by Keith Baker, the program features BRT favorites Laura Catlaw, Philip Chaffin, Anthony D'Amato, and Steven Stein-Grainger, joined by Niffer Clarke and Eleonore Thomas. The program features such popular toe-tapping, finger-snapping songs as Carol of the Bells, Frosty the Snowman, O Holy Night, Winter Winterland, Baby It's Cold Outside, All I Want for Christmas, and Santa Baby.

Bristol Riverside Theatre announces its 2010-11 season of four plays and one musical featuring Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Jeffrey Hatcher, Old Wicked Songs by John Marans, The Little Prince by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, All My Sons by Arthur Miller, and Little Women with book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.

Shortened Attention Span is proud to present The Shortened Attention Span Musical Festival, twelve short musicals covering topics of LOVE, GRIEF, Lizard People, and Singing Rats! Each week of performances features four short musicals. Shortened Attention Span brings together some of the best up and coming writers, composers, and singers in New York. The festival will again be held at The Players Loft in The Players Theatre, 115 Macdougal St, NY, NY 10012. Thursdays-Sundays (Thursday-Saturday @ 8pm, Sundays @ 3pm)
