Randy Jernigan Releases THE LIFE AND CAREER OF MARIE OSMOND as First 'Stars That Make a Difference' Series
by Christina Mancuso
- Jul 13, 2015
When one thinks of celebrities that make a positive difference in the lives of others, more than likely the name Marie Osmond pops up.
'The Life and Career of Marie Osmond' is a new short biographical sketch released through Kindle, and is the first release of the 'Stars That Make A Difference' series by celebrity journalist Randy Jernigan. The piece chronicles the charismatic performer's 50 years in show business, as well as (the sometimes controversial) details of her personal life, and the founding of her Children's Miracle Network and yearly telethon.
'When my publisher approached me with this idea, I jumped on it immediately,' explained Jernigan. 'I could see the value in a series about celebrities that have a conscience and promotes lifting others in need. You read so much that is negative about stars in the press these days-it's nice to see that there are those out there that actually give back to society,' said the author.
At age 55, she's still the same bubbly, energetic performer that stole American hearts at the tender age of three on the Andy Williams musical Variety show those many years ago. Still the same Grammy winning voice that recorded 35 albums, that starred on Broadway, that wrote 6 New York Times best-sellers, that danced her way into the season five finale of 'Dancing With the Stars,' and if that wasn't enough, hosted her own daytime talk show for the Hallmark Channel aptly titled 'Marie.' Osmond now performs with brother Donny in a Las Vegas review at the Flamingo Hotel.
But what's really at the heart of this multi-talented star?
'Marie's always had a big heart-especially for the little ones,' say's fellow singer Olivia Newton John. 'Marie made a commitment years ago as a young lady, that she would do her part in helping children who need medical attention but who can't afford it-and she's lived up to that commitment many times over,' said Newton John.
Osmond founded the Children's Miracle Network in 1983 with other Osmond family members and fellow performer, John Schneider. To date, the organization has raised more that 5 Billion dollars for the 170 participating Children's hospitals throughout the country.
'The Life and Career of Marie Osmond' is the first installment in the 'Stars That Make A Difference' fan series released through Creative Partners Fan Books and is now available on Kindle and other electronic devices.
A portion of the proceeds of this release will go to benefit The Trevor Projecta rescue hotline for LGBTQ youth that are in crisis.
