Star of Broadway's Hair and Hairspray and American Idol, Diana DeGarmo has signed on to star in QUILT, A MUSICAL CELEBRATION to benefit the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center and Frontline AIDS (formerly the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in celebration of Stonewall's 50th Anniversary. This community event is presented by Candid Theater Company, Judson Memorial Church, The Greenwich Village Orchestra, The West Village Chorale, MJP Theatrical, Metro Baptist Church, The NAMES Project Foundation/NAMES Memorial AIDS Quilt, and NYC Pride 2019 | WorldPride NYC | Stonewall50.

 In celebration of Stonewall's 50th Anniversary, Candid Theater Company, Judson Memorial Church, The Greenwich Village Orchestra, The West Village Chorale, MJP Theatrical, Metro Baptist Church, The NAMES Project Foundation/NAMES Memorial AIDS Quilt, and NYC Pride 2019 | WorldPride NYC | Stonewall50 have partnered to present a community-led professional presentation of QUILT, A MUSICAL CELEBRATION to benefit the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center and Frontline AIDS (formerly the International HIV/AIDS Alliance).

This Weekend we reached out to Richard to fill us in on the event and what attendees can look forward to. We found him in the midst of rehearsals and planning for the event to take place at The Asia Society with cocktails beginning at 6:00 PM and the Award Presentation starting at 8:00 PM.

Opening on the 30th anniversary of the NAMES Project's AIDS Memorial Quilt, New Tampa Players presents QUILT: A MUSICAL CELEBRATION on October 11-14. With book by Jim Morgan, Merle Hubbard and John Schak, music by Michael Stockler and lyrics by Jim Morgan, this is the story behind the NAMES Project's AIDS Memorial Quilt and the lives of the people remembered in the panels.

On Wednesday evening, June 20th, a private reading of QUILT - A Musical Celebration at Rosie O'Donnell's Maravel Arts Center, home of Rosie's Theater Kids in New York, took place to mark the 25th anniversary of The NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt in advance of its planned summer return to the nation's capital. The theater community kicked off The Fantasticks 50th anniversary year with an early curtain of the show (7PM) and a post-performance cocktail reception at The Snapple Center on Monday May 4th.
