The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, led by John Morris Russell, is thrilled to reprise its hit program, American Originals, with Volume 2 performances at Music Hall November 10-12. American Originals Vol. 2 explores American popular music at the beginning of the 20th century, re-imagined by guest artists Rhiannon Giddens (founding member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops and recent MacArthur Genius Awardee), Pokey LaFarge and the Steep Canyon Rangers.

CSO Musicians To Perform Concert For Refugees In Netherlands

On 4 September at Buurtcentrum de Dreef in Utrecht, Netherlands, Classical Movements will present a concert for refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Northern Africa, featuring five members of the world-renowned, 122-year-old Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) during their six-country, 11-concert tour of Europe.

Celebrate July 4 with PATROTIC POPS at Riverbend

???????The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Conductor John Morris Russell return to Riverbend Music Center on Tuesday, July 4 at 8 p.m. for the annual Fourth of July spectacular, Patriotic Pops. Joining the Orchestra this year are acclaimed vocalist Ellis Hall and triple-threat fiddle ensemble the Quebe Sisters. The concert will combine traditional patriotic classics like “America the Beautiful” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” alongside a survey of American popular music through the decades from “Georgia on My Mind” to “All of Me.”

Aoife O'Donovan Joins NSO For Annual Labor Day Concert

???????Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Aoife O'Donovan joins the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) in its annual free Labor Day concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, on Sunday, September 3, at 8 p.m. Guest conductor John Morris Russell leads the NSO and O'Donovan in a program of Americana featuring marches, folk music, and bluegrass-inspired songs, including O'Donovan-penned songs, "Red & White & Blue & Gold", "Magic Hour" and "The King of All Birds," plus the Bob Dylan song "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol."

Cincinnati Pops John Morris Russell Extends Contract Through 20-21 Season

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra announced an agreement with John Morris Russell that extends the Conductor's contract through the 2020-21 season. This builds on a fiveyear extension announced in 2014 and comes on the heels of a wildly successful international tour in March that included Cincinnati Pops performances in China and Taiwan for enthusiastic crowds.
