The 2010 White House Music Series begins on Wednesday, February 10th, when the President and First Lady will host 'In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement' - a concert celebrating Black History month.
The Frist Center for the Visual Arts has announced its upcoming events through April 30, 2010.
According to a report in the New York Times, the White House's first music event of 2010 will be a concert titled 'In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music From the Civil Rights Movement' in the State Dining Room. The concert is scheduled for February 11. Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifah are set to host.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, a musical written by novelist Stephen King with original music written by rock musician John Mellencamp, will get a new lease on life, it seems. The musical was set to premiere at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia from April 15 through May 10, 2009, but script development issues suspended the premiere. Nashville Gab and thatnashvillesound.com are now reporting that the musical will now debut at the Alliance in September 2010, with A book and CD recording of the songs published prior to its opening.
