Fortiter Publishing Releases RODS
by Christina Mancuso - Nov 17, 2014

The Novella 'RODS' will be released 12/10/14 by Fortiter Publishing LLC. RODS is an enjoyable, tongue-in-cheek story of a New York City homicide detective thrown into the crossfire between Good and Evil. NYPD Detective John Martin is an average cop. His ex-wife hates him. He can't please his boss. His ex-partner hates him. Criminals hate him. Pretty average. But then again... His partner is perfect. And he has a gift. Captain John Martin sees crimes. But only when he's at the crime scene, and only after they happen. He and his partner have used this gift to solve every murder assigned to them. That's almost enough to please their boss. But what John sees this night changes everything. Fortiter Publishing is pleased to announce the release of the Paranormal Detective story 'RODS' on December 10th 2014. 'RODS' is now available for pre-order at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PPH8UJQ. See fortiterpublishing.com for further details.

VIA Records to Release Albums by Paola Prestini, Jeffrey Zeigler and Anna Clyne
by BWW News Desk - Oct 24, 2014

The Brooklyn-based composer Paola Prestini's work has been deemed "radiant [and] amorously evocative" by The New York Times, which has also hailed "her gift for bringing together disparate artists, technicians and other creative professionals to produce cross-disciplinary works greater than the sum of their parts." Her multimedia opera Oceanic Verses perfectly reveals her sensibility as a composer, a creator of multimedia productions, and a wholeheartedly entrepreneurially artist. She commissioned the work through her non-profit company, VisionIntoArt (VIA), whose new label, VIA Records, will release Prestini's music and collaborator Ali Hossaini's visuals as a beautifully designed CD/DVD package on November 18.

Spoiler Alert! Recap and Review: Night Two of THE VOICE's Battle Rounds 10/14; Full Results, Reviews, & Pictures!
by Matt Tamanini - Oct 14, 2014

I have been pretty vocal about the fact that I don't love THE VOICE's Battle Rounds. The whole point of a singing competition is to out sing your competitors. However, in the Battles, your future on the show is, in part, in the hands of your collaborator; how does that make sense? Even if the two singers create a great duet, by definition, each has to play background singer at some point in the song. How does that help you determine who is the better of the two singers? If the goal is to find the best singer possible, then you should let the singers give you their best possible performance.

Spoiler Alert! THE VOICE Recap for Blind Audition Night Three 9/29; Full Results!
by Matt Tamanini - Sep 29, 2014

The first two nights of THE VOICE's Blind Auditions last week, presented us with a lot of ups, but a few uncharacteristic downs from a show that prides itself on having the best singers on reality TV, and the third night wasn't much different. That being said NBC's megahit still provides the most compelling audition process on TV, and makes other singing shows (cough AMERICAN IDOL) look like the minor leagues in terms of talent.
