Brian Pracht's UNPLUGGED IN Premieres at Theatre Row Tonight, 5/25

UNPLUGGED IN, Brian Pracht's new drama about three friends trying to connect at the end of the world, receives its world premiere at New York City's Theatre Row in a production directed by Michelle Bossy, the Associate Artistic Director of Primary Stages. Performances begin tonight, May 25.

It's December 2012 and the world may be coming to an end. And even if it isn't, it feels like it will for Zero, Chris, and Leah, three friends scraping by in New York City. Escape can be found with the click of a button, but the further they distance themselves from reality, the greater their need to connect. Amid this battle between fantasy and reality comes UN PLUGGED IN, an end-of-the-world drama about a group of friends fighting for the connections that matter most.

The cast of UNPLUGGED IN features Devin Norik (MTV's I Just Want My Pants Back, Unnatural Acts at Classic Stage Company), Joe Curnutte (MTV's I Just Want My Pants Back, La Femme Est Morte at 59E59) and Athena Masci (Bulldog Theatricals' STUCK, Carapace Isle).

Brian Pracht's prize-winning plays have been developed at Primary Stages, Naked Angels, Flux Theatre Ensemble and Axial Theatre His play The Canning premiered at Chicago's n.u.f.a.n. ensemble and an evening of short plays, lowbrow (and a little bit tacky), premiered in New York. He is a member of the Primary Stages Dorothy Strelsin Writers Group.

Michelle Bossy's directing credits include Brian Pracht's Low Brow, Dread Awakening, South Beach Rapture, I Love You, I Think, Sarajevo's Child, Little Monsters, High School Confidential and Bicycle Girl.

Michael P. Kramer (two-time New York Innovative Theater Award-winning designer of Ragtime and Children of Eden) is the scenic designer. Joey Blaha (Theater For The New City's Heathens) is the costume designer. Nicole Pearce (LAByrinth, The New Group) is the lighting designer. Janie Bullard (Prospect Theater Company's Myths and Hymns) is the sound designer.

Lisa Dozier (Sistas: The Musical) and Eve Rybnick (Bronte off-broadway) are the general managers. Taylor Haven-Holt (Reckless Theatre Group's Stupid Kids) is the assistant director. John Martinez (Convergent Theater's Never the Sinner) is the production manageR. Kelly Gillespie (The Keen Company's Drama Desk-honored revivals of The Dining Room, Outward Bound and Pullman Car Hiawatha) is the casting director. Jess Johnston (Daryl Roth Theatrical's Tokio Confidential) is the production stage manager. Lindsey Sherman is the assistant stage manager.

UNPLUGGED IN will be performed at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) beginning tonight, May 25. Performances will be held Tuesdays at 7pm, Wednesdays at 8pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. This limited engagement runs through June 9.
