Porchlight Revisits to Return with Meghan Murphy & Brandon Dahlquist in WOMAN OF THE YEAR

Porchlight Music Theatre has announced the first production in the fifth season of Chicago's lost musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits Woman of the Year, starring Meghan Murphy and Brandon Dahlquist, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Peter Stone, with direction by Porchlight's Artistic Director Michael Weber, choreography by Florence Walker Harris and musical direction by David Fiorello.

Due to popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company has twice extended its widely loved Chicago premiere production of The Rembrandt written by Jessica Dickey and directed by Hallie Gordon. Joe Dempsey joins the cast as Rembrandt/Henry in this subtle and elegant play, replacing ensemble member Francis Guinan who is currently in rehearsals for Steppenwolf's next production, The Minutes. The Rembrandt, hailed as humorous and enlightening (Broadway World) with powerful performances...both satisfying and profound (Daily Herald), continues through November 11, 2017 in the Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted. The extension cast features ensemble member John Mahoney as Simon/Homer alongside acclaimed Chicago actor Joe Dempsey (Ah, Wilderness! Twist Your Dickens) as Henry/Rembrandt, Ty Olwin as Dodger/Titus, Karen Rodriguez as Madeline/Henny and Gabriel Ruiz as Jonny/Martin. Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Announces 27th Season

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's 27th summer season will launch with the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime and will feature three Shakespeare plays: the popular comedy Twelfth Night, the profound and lyrical history play King Richard II, and an actor-driven production of the spirited and bittersweet comedy All's Well That Ends Well. As the Festival continues its ambitious progression through the canon, King Richard II will be the 30th of Shakespeare's 38 plays PSF has produced. Rounding out the season will be the stage adaptation of the spectacular Shakespeare in Love, the most produced play in the nation this year following its run in London's West End.
