SPAMALOT, THE LION, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD and More Set for Geva Theatre's 2015-16 Season

Four productions still remain in Geva Theatre Center's 42nd Season: A Body of Water, Lee Blessing's play of memory and identity; The Mountaintop, a reimagining of Martin Luther King's last night on earth; the world premiere of Cass Morgan's journey to discover her roots - The Road to Where; and the season's grand finale, the laugh-out-loud comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The 2014-2015 Season continued Geva's innovative efforts to connect patrons and artists and art with the community. The 2015-2016 Season will continue to build on that and also usher in a new era as Geva's historic home begins to undergo renovation and transformation.

SWITZERLAND, Starring Laura Linney, Opens Tonight at the Geffen

Laura Linney (The Big C, The Savages) and Seth Numrich (AMC's TURN, Broadway: War Horse) will perform in the Geffen Playhouse production of Switzerland by Joanna Murray-Smith (The Female of the Species, The Gift). This co-world premiere with Sydney Theatre Company will be directed by Mark Brokaw (Broadway: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, The Lyons) in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse now through April 19, 2015. Opening night is tonight, March 13.

Laura Linney (The Big C, The Savages) and Seth Numrich (AMC's TURN, Broadway: War Horse) will perform in the Geffen Playhouse production of Switzerland by Joanna Murray-Smith (The Female of the Species, The Gift). This co-world premiere with Sydney Theatre Company will be directed by Mark Brokaw (Broadway: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, The Lyons) in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse from tonight, March 6 to April 19, 2015. Opening night is Friday, March 13.

Blackbird Theatre Announces Premiere of MYTH Musical

?After four critically acclaimed seasons, Nashville's Blackbird Theater will produce what company founders call their 'magnum opus,' the new musical Myth, set for a world premiere run July 16-26.

THE LAST SHIP Company Reunites in Concert Tonight at 54 Below

THE LAST SHIP played its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, January 24, but fans still have another chance to catch the cast in action. Tonight, March 2 (9:30PM), they will reunite at 54 Below for 'Songs in the Quay of Life: THE LAST SHIP Company in Concert.' The original cast and band will celebrate their run with an eclectic evening themed around seafaring songs. Proceeds will go to support Wallsend Boys Club in the north of England, which was founded by shipbuilders.

Showtime Announces 2015 Spring Programming

Today, Showtime announced its 2015 Spring Programming, which includes the seventh and final season of NURSE JACKIE, the new series HAPPY and the return of PENNY DREADFUL.

Postponed 54 Below Concert with Cast of Broadway's IF/THEN Rescheduled for Next Month

Cast Members from the Broadway musical IF/THEN will perform the songs of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning writing team of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey on Monday, March 2 at 54 Below (254 West 54th street). There will be two performances - 7:00pm (sold out) and a special added 11:30pm (tickets available). The one-night only concerts were originally scheduled for Monday, January 26th, but were re-scheduled due to winter storm Juno.

BWW Profile: Eddie Redmayne Oscar-Nominated Star of Stage and Screen

Eddie Redmayne is having a very good year. The 33-year old actor is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for playing physicist Stephen Hawking in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. In the film, Redmayne has been singled out for his sensitive portrayal of Hawking that goes from his younger days through the onslaught of the progressive motor neuron disease that binds him to a wheelchair.

Tony Nominee Laura Osnes to Mentor Students at 2015 Songbook Academy

Two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Cinderella, Bonnie & Clyde) will serve as a mentor at the 2015 Songbook Academy. Osnes joins founder of the program, Michael Feinstein, for this one-of-a-kind music and performance intensive for high school students.

Independent Theatre to Present Eugene O'Neill's LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT

John Logan's RED Opens Tonight at Redtwist Theatre

2010 winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Play, RED by John Logan will be directed by Steve Scott, Artistic Associate, Goodman Theatre at the Redtwist Theatre. The production opens tonight, February 7, 2015, at 3pm (also press opening), featuring Redtwist Company Members/Jeff Award-winners, Brian Parry and Aaron Kirby.

Sting on THE LAST SHIP: 'I Had to Throw My Best Friend Under the Bus to Save the Play'

THE LAST SHIP just played its final performance on Broadway on January 24 at theNeil Simon Theatre (where it has played 29 preview performances and 105 regular performances). On December 9, 2014, Sting, who composed The Last Ship's score, joined the cast in the role of Jackie White, the foreman of the shipyard who rallies his community to build one last ship meant to sail the world. Sting recently spoke openly about the casting switch up in an interview with The Stage.
