Bianca Marroquin Returns to CHICAGO as 'Roxie,' 12/20

On Monday, December 20, 2010, the Broadway company of the international musical smash CHICAGO is pleased to welcome back Bianca Marroquin to the starring role of merry murderess Roxie Hart, for a three-week limited holiday engagement through Sunday, January 9, 2011.

Manhattan Theatre Club's THE WHIPPING MAN, the acclaimed new play by Matthew Lopez, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, met the press today. This new production stars two-time Emmy Award winner Andre Braugher ('Men of a Certain Age,' 'Homicide'), Andre Holland (Joe Turner's Come and Gone, The Brother/Sister Plays), and Jay Wilkison (upcoming film version of Rabbit Hole).

Lincoln Center Theater production of Jon Robin Baitz' OTHER DESERT CITIES, directed by Joe Mantello, begins previews Thursday, December 16 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 W. 65 Street.).

LCT's OTHER DESERT CITIES Begins 12/16

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) wil present Thomas Sadoski, Stockard Channing, Stacy Keach, Linda Lavin and Elizabeth Marvel in OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello. Performances begin Thursday, December 16 at 8pm. Opening night is Thursday, January 13 at 6:45 pm.

DRIVING MISS DAISY Extends with Redgrave, Jones, Gaines Through Apr. 9, 2011

With the playwright at their side on stage at the Golden Theatre, producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy, will extend its Broadway premiere engagement through April 9, 2011, making it the only play this season that will be running into the spring. The play's three acclaimed stars, Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines, will all remain with the production. Directed by David Esbjornson, Driving Miss Daisy opened on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on October 25, 2010, where it has since broken all house records. The production was previously scheduled to run through January 29, 2011.

TIME STANDS STILL, Broadway's best reviewed new play, will end its acclaimed run when stars Laura Linney, Brian d'Arcy James, Eric Bogosian, and Christina Ricci depart the production, as scheduled, on Sunday, January 30 at the Cort Theatre (137 West 48th Street). The play, by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, recently announced the lauded cast had extended their run at the Cort, through January 30. When it closes on that date, the production will have played 16 preview performances and 126 regular performances.
