Noted entertainment attorney Eric S. Goldman will produce Gay Bride of Frankenstein Off-Broadway in the 2011-2012 season. Written by Dane E. Leeman (book) & Billy Butler (book, music & lyrics), Gay Bride of Frankenstein is a pop/rock, fairy tale musical that follows the exploits of four high school friends on one fateful Halloween night at a very unconventional Monsters Ball. It's John Hughes meets Scooby-Doo, and asks the age old question: 'Will the girl get the girl?'

The international theatre company BITE (Brooklyn Innovative Theatre Experience) will present its first independent full-length production Prom Night of the Living Dead -- an interactive horror play equal parts John Hughes and George Romero - opening Thursday, August 18 at 8pm and running three weeks, Thursday - Sunday, until Sunday, September 4 at 2pm at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St, NYC).

Manhattan Theatre Club has just announced that Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will return to MTC to star in the Broadway premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play WIT by Margaret Edson, directed by MTC's award-winning Artistic Director Lynne Meadow. The limited engagement of WIT will begin previews Thursday, January 5, 2012 and open Thursday, January 26, 2012 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

FOR THE RECORD: John Hughes, a concert celebrating the soundtrack that defined a generation, made its New York City debut at City Winery last night, June 27th.
