Lincoln Center's epic and sweeping production of The King and I is Broadway done right and not to be missed!

???????On June 27, 2017, the Sixth Annual Bipartisan Tribute to Veterans and Those Who Serve in Congress honored military veterans, including House and Senate members serving in the U.S. Congress, at a summer kick-off reception in the shadow of the nation's Capital. The program featured a powerful line-up of speakers and inspiring songs by renowned tenor Anthony Kearns. 

A lineup of leading performers, including Jimmy Kimmel, Steve Martin, John Mulaney, Bill Murray, Paul Shaffer, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, Eddie Vedder, and others will salute David Letterman at the 20th annual Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 8 p.m. The 20th Anniversary program will pay tribute to the humor and accomplishments of Letterman, and will be taped by WETA Washington, D.C. The program will air on PBS stations as David Letterman: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize nationwide on Monday, November 20 at 9 p.m. (check local listings). Artists are subject to change.

The current national tour, based on the recent Broadway revival at Roundabout Theatre Company's Studio 54 and taking up residence at the Kennedy Center through August 6, does just that - explore and provide a unique take. While there's never been anything particularly cheery about the musical, this version wonderfully embraces its darkness and cold undertones more so than a few others I have seen.
