Playwright Cordelia Lynn's is well aware of the intense, yet important journey examined in LELA & CO. "I knew that the play could be horrifying and shocking and upsetting - and all those things you can get out of visual violence, without actually showing it," says Lynn. "I want the audience to leave and think there are things happening that I don't see -- maybe because I don't want to see".

Chicago to Bring Classic Rock and Roll to the Van Wezel This Fall

Two-time Grammy Award winners, founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and one of the most legendary bands since the dawn of rock and roll, Chicago will be at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 8PM.

Legendary Band Chicago Comes to Orlando in October

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, in association with Live Nation, will present the Orlando engagement of Chicago. The legendary rock-and-roll-band-with-horns will play the Bob Carr Theater on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Chicago to Perform at Van Wezel

Two-time Grammy Award winners, founding Artists of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and one of the most legendary bands since the dawn of rock and roll, Chicago will be at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 8PM.

THE RONALD REAGAN PICTURE SHOW Begins 8/25 at Museum of the Moving Image

The outstanding new CNN Films documentary The Reagan Show uses archival footage of President Ronald Reagan, much of it documented by U.S. Naval Photographic unit for the White House and maintained by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. The documentary has inspired a week-long film series at Museum of the Moving Image. The series The Ronald Reagan Picture Show, which runs August 25 through 30, includes a special screening of The Reagan Show (on August 30) followed by a discussion with filmmakers Sierra Pettengill and Pacho Velez, CNN senior media correspondent and host of Reliable Sources Brian Stelter, and presidential historian Tim Naftali. During the weekend prior to this screening, the Museum will present rare screenings of some of Ronald Reagan's most memorable film roles, all presented in 35mm.  

Faustin Linyekula's IN SEARCH OF DINOZORD to Make U.S. Premiere at NYU Skirball

NYU Skirball and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF)'s Crossing the Line Festival will present the American premiere of In Search of Dinozord, by Congolese choreographer Faustin Linyekula on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 pm at NYU Skirball. In Search of Dinozard delves into the art, politics, and turbulent history of the Congo.

The Washington Ballet and The Principles of Uncertainty Close Jacob's Pillow 85th Anniversary Season

Jacob's Pillow Dance Award recipient John Heginbotham and acclaimed illustrator and author Maira Kalman join forces in the world premiere of The Principles of Uncertainty, closing the Festival in the Doris Duke Theatre, August 23-27. Co-commissioned by the Pillow and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and developed during multiple Pillow Creative Development Residencies, The Principles of Uncertainty is an evening-length dance theatre work choreographed and directed by Heginbotham, designed by Kalman and inspired by her written and visual art, and set to a score composed, arranged, and curated by Brooklyn Rider and Silk Road Ensemble's Colin Jacobsen. Members of The Knights, Jacobsen's innovative chamber orchestra, will perform live, and Maira Kalman herself is also featured in the performance.

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival 2017 Announces Opening Lineup

Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival , one of New York's premier summer performance series, kicks off its 51st season on July 25. Among the highlights in the first two weeks are a special opening concert led by Louis Langrée, Renée and Robert Belfer Music Director, featuring traditional and indigenous songs from Mozart's time; a choral presentation by Les Arts Florissants; and guest conductors Edward Gardner and Gianandrea Noseda; festival debuts by more than 10 artists, including Kit Armstrong, Janai Brugger, Jennifer Johnson Cano, S? Percussion, Beatrice Rana, Ksenija Sidorova, and the Young People's Chorus of New York City; and the New York premiere of David Lang's concerto for percussion, man made. Scrimmage Art Exhibition Opens in Conjunction with HOF Enshrinement Festival

Scrimmage: Football in American Art from the Civil War to Present is the first comprehensive assembly of work by prominent American artists focusing on football.
