The Harris Theater for Music and Dance is proud to present the world premiere of Tesseracts of Time; a brand new collaboration between renowned choreographer Jessica Lang and celebrated architect Steven Holl, performed by Jessica Lang Dance and commissioned by the Chicago Architecture Biennial. After being called a 'can't miss' performance by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Magazine, and many other publications, this is a premier highlight of the Fall dance season, arriving at the Harris today, November 6 at 8PM. WASHINGTON, D.C. -The Washington Ballet (TWB) is pleased to announce that Howard University's Dance Arts Program will present two works in its upcoming studio company performance, theNEWmovement: Balanchine & Beyond. This energetic exploration of works by George Balanchine explores the dance legend's influence on generations of choreographers. The program will include Balanchine's classic Serenade; Septime Webre's Fluctuating Hemlines and his first ballet, D-Construction; TWB Company dancer Tamás Krizsa's piece Resonance; and two works by Howard University's Dance Arts Program: Keuchen and SHOOK.

There may be no better way to chase the gloom of an unseasonably chilly and wind-whipped evening in NYC than to watch New York City Ballet's delightfully varied quintuple-bill entitled "Americana X Five". On October 2nd 2015, with Hurricane Joaquin's approach bringing on a gusty downpour, I was among the lucky dancegoers at the Koch Theater in Lincoln Center who enjoyed one of the best programs the company has offered in a long time. Toilet Fire: Rectums in the Rectory is Eliza Bent's ceremony and celebration of the one thing that unites us all: our need to go. Using the structure of an ancient religious ritual to talk about matters of digestion, philosophy, and faith, Toilet Fire written and performed by Bent, with direction by Kevin Laibson and music accompaniment by Alaina Ferris, explodes with song, story, audience participation, and unexpected textual twists.

New York City Ballet will open its 2015-16 Season at Lincoln Center tonight, September 22 with eight performances of Peter Martins' production of Tschaikovsky's Swan Lake, through Tuesday, September 29, to launch the Company's 2015 Fall Season, which will continue for four weeks through Sunday, October 18.

World Music Institute opens its spectacular 30th Anniversary Season with a four-night cross-cultural Lusophone Festival, featuring music from the Portuguese-speaking world with artists from Brazil, Portugal, Cape Verde, Angola, and Mozambique. From today, September 15, through September 18, back-to-back concerts take place at venues around town including Le Poisson Rouge, Drom NYC, and The Town Hall.
