Completing the programming for the 10th annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF announced several additional concerts, a series of educational workshops, and a "Musicals on Television" screening series in partnership with the Paley Center for Media. Phillip Phillips grew up in Georgia and enjoyed spending time with his family. Everyone in his family loved singing and Phillip started to take an interest in music after hearing his siblings sing. When he auditioned for American Idol, he was sure that they were going to give him terrible feedback. But, instead, he became the 11th Season winner of American Idol. I recently had the chance to interview Phillip while he was touring with Matchbox Twenty. As he shared his experiences, it was easy to see why America fell in love with Phillip and his unique style of music.

Stephen Byrd, Alia Jones and Anthony Lacavera just announced that Ms. Carmen DeLavallade will join the cast of their much anticipated production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Ms. DeLavallade will join the cast led by Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch, completing the cast of Broadway's A Streetcar Named Desire. This production of A Streetcar Named Desire will take over the Broadhurst Theatre beginning its limited run on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 and will celebrate its opening Sunday, April 22, 2012.
On March 6th, 1992 the Fox Theatre opened its doors in Boulder, Colorado with a performance by the Meters. In a statement, the Theatre said: 'The Fox Theatre family is honored The Funky Meters will return to lead the celebration on March 1st to kick off the legendary venue's 20th anniversary month. Anniversaries are an opportunity to bring family together, therefore The Fox is excited for Leftover Salmon to perform on March 6th & 7th. The Boulder based 'Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass' band paved the way for the national jamgrass scene.
