Lincoln Center Out of Doors one of the country's longest-running, free, summer outdoor festivals opens its 45th season on July 22, 2015. Paul Kelly to Receive JC Williamson Award at 2015 Helpmann Ceremony

In recognition of his longstanding contribution to the live performance industry, Live Performance Australia (LPA) is honoured to announce Australian music icon, Paul Kelly as the recipient of this year's JC Williamson Award. Mr Kelly will be presented with the JC Williamson Award honouring his extraordinary career at the 15th annual Helpmann Awards Ceremony to be held at Sydney's Capitol Theatre on Monday 27 July.

Carmen de Lavallade's AS I REMEMBER IT Runs Now thru 2/25 at Baryshnikov Arts Center

As part its 10th Anniversary Spring 2015 season, Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) proudly presents the New York Premiere of Carmen de Lavallade's As I Remember It, February 19-21 and 24 at 8PM, and February 25 at 1PM in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This intimate autobiographical performance combines movement and storytelling to weave a poignant memoir of Carmen de Lavallade's extraordinary career, highlighting the legendary artist's singular place in cultural history.

The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival Returns to NYC This Weekend

Legend states that events come in threes -- a phenomenon in its truest form for The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival as it embarks on a third year honoring the literary world's most nuanced and visionary author, Philip K. Dick. The highly anticipated four-day experience from this weekend, January 15-18, 2015 will screen at three distinguished locations including The Cervantes Institute, Tribeca Cinemas and The Producer's Club and features a slate of innovative features and shorts which capture the distinctive boldness of the the genre and brings forth the most riveting moments of science fiction cinema ever to grace the big screen.

Dispatch with Special Guests The John Butler Trio to Play Madison Square Garden in July

MSG Entertainment announced today that DISPATCH, joined by special guest the John Butler Trio, will return to the stage at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 8:00PM for 'DISPATCH: HUNGER,' an event geared to shine a light on the issue of hunger in the United States. DISPATCH made their Madison Square Garden debut in 2007 for a similar event, 'DISPATCH: ZIMBABWE,' which sold out three nights at MSG. This year, a limited time Chase Advance Ticket sale will be available for Chase credit or debit purchases starting Friday, January 16, 2015 at 12:00PM through Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00PM while supplies last. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 12:00PM. Madison Square Garden will be the only place to see DISPATCH in North America in 2015.

UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts to Present BILLY THE KID

The Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) at the University of California, Irvine is thrilled to announce that as part of our 50th anniversary season the Department of Dance will stage a revival of founding faculty member Eugene Loring's classic American ballet, Billy the Kid. The work will be featured as part of Dance Visions, an annual constellation of faculty works which runs from February 11 - 15, 2015 in the Claire Trevor Theatre. The program will also include choreography by outstanding current faculty members Tong Wang, Shaun Boyle, and Donald McKayle.

Carmen de Lavallade Set for World Premiere of AS I REMEMBER IT at Jacob's Pillow This Weekend

Carmen de Lavallade's career as a dancer, choreographer, and stage and film actress spans more than six decades working with luminaries such as Lena Horne, Josephine Baker, Harry Belafonte, Alvin Ailey, and many others. She already holds the distinction of the longest Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival performing career on record, having made her Pillow debut with Lester Horton Dance Theatre in 1953 and performing at the Festival as recently as 2004 (with Paradigm), and she now extends that record by another decade. In the world premiere of her new solo show, As I Remember It, de Lavallade combines powerful movement and poignant storytelling to weave a theatrical memoir about her venerable life on stage. This exclusive engagement opens the 2014 Festival in the Doris Duke Theatre with a limited three-show run, this weekend, June 20-22.

BWW Interviews: Cherylyn Lavagnino

Cherylyn Lavagnino has an MFA in Dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, as well as a BA in Philosophy from USC. Lavagnino toured nationally as a soloist with the Pennsylvania Ballet. She has performed a range of classical repertoire and contemporary work by choreographers including Balanchine, John Butler, Hans Van Manen, and Tere O'Connor, and the diversity of these experiences has informed the dialogue between classical and contemporary in her work with Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance. Ms. Lavagnino has created over forty works in the past fifteen years, and since 2000 the platform for her choreography has been Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance. Many of those works were created in collaboration with composers Scott Killian and Jane Chung. CLD continues to support a Live Music and Dance incentive their performances. Lavagnino's choreography has been presented in New York City: by Danspace Project at St. Mark's Church, Dance Theater Workshop, Symphony Space, DanceNow/NYC, Kaatsban International Dance Center and The Joyce Theatre's 'Evening Stars' series. Ms. Lavagnino is an Alpert Award nominee for choreography and recipient of a space grant residency from the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Her choreography has been supported by the American Music Center's, Live Music for Dance grant and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Manhattan Creative Communities Fund.
