The internationally acclaimed sketch-comedy troupe, The Second City, will end the World Premiere of Can You Be More Pacific, a custom-crafted production for The Laguna Playhouse that lampoons Laguna Beach and The OC, in Orange County April 11, 2010.
From sagebrush to Sheriff Joe, from Green Valley to kokopelli - it's time to batten down the barrel cactus because The Second City is on their way to the Grand Canyon State to do a no-holds-barred world premiere comedy revue all about Arizona. THE SECOND CITY DOES ARIZONA is an original revue of comic sketches and songs aimed at skewering everything and everyone that is unique, ridiculous and wonderful about the land of rising temperatures and falling real estate. The Second City Does Arizona plays in Tucson at the Temple of Music and Art from April 3 through April 24. It continues its run in Phoenix at the Herberger Theater Center from April 29 through May 16.
In 2009-10, Centerstage decided to take the plunge and try something that, though they had been pondering it for years, was totally new. The result has been a season of nonstop, almost unprecedented stylistic diversity. And a heck of a lot of activity. On our two stages, by season's end, they'll have hosted 14 different performances, running the gamut from intimate cabarets to a rollicking special-engagement holiday show to a three-week festival of readings (coming in April), alongside six fully staged theatrical productions. If you saw even half of what was put on this year, you saw a season of theater like few in Baltimore's history.
