The Marriott Theatre continues its highly acclaimed 2009 season with HAIRSPRAY, the show the New York Post calls 'A great big fat gorgeous hit!' This all-new production of the Tony Award-winning international phenomenon explodes onto the Marriott Theatre stage September 23rd. Direct from Broadway, where it played for over 2,500 performances, the production begins previews September 23rd, opens Wednesday, September 30th at 8 p.m., and runs through December 6th, 2009.

For the play?s Chicago premiere at Goodman Theatre, Artistic Director Robert Falls taps director Charles Newell, whose reputation for directing acclaimed Stoppard productions precedes him. Today, the Jefferson Awards announced the 150 nominations in 35 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions which opened between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008. Beginning with this season, the Jeff Awards is acknowledging the work of Large and Midsize theatres in separate categories for productions and technical elements.

Court Theatre continues its 53rd season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical, Carousel, directed by Artistic Director Charles Newell with musical direction by Doug Peck. The co-production with Long Wharf Theatre runs March 6 - April 13, 2008, at Court Theatre (5535 S. Ellis Ave). The official press opening is Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 8PM.

Porchlight Music Theatre presents a musical tribute to Tony-Award winning composer and lyricist, Maury Yeston. This magical night of music from the creator of Grand Hotel, Phantom, Nine and Titanic starring some of Chicago's musical theatre and cabaret stars, will take place on Monday, February 11 at 7:30PM at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N. Broadway, Chicago. The evening will include performances by cast members from Altar Boyz, Jersey Boys and Wicked.
