Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences Presents SLEEPING BEAUTY 3/3-4/25

By:

The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences, 10 Marriott Drive, presents Marc Robin's SLEEPING BEAUTY from March 3 through April 25, 2010. A whimsical twist on the classic fairytale, the musical is directed and choreographed by Matt Raftery.

In a fanciful and far-off kingdom, the vengeful sorceress Magenta places a wicked curse on the beautiful Princess Amber. Only a kiss from her one true love can unlock the spell and wake this Sleeping Beauty before it is too late. Will Prince Hunter overcome his fears as he scales the mountains, sails the dark sea and battles a dragon to prove his love to Princess Amber? Children are invited to participate in the magic throughout this captivating and colorful fairy tale, featuring a soaring score and lively choreography.

SLEEPING BEAUTY stars Chicagoland favorites Andrew Keltz as Topaz, Heidi Kettenring as Periwinkle, Tammy Mader as Marigold, Johanna Mckenzie Miller as Ruby, Jessie Mueller as Princess Amber, Susan Moniz as Magenta, Ryan Reilly as Prince Hunter, and Bernie Yvon as King Lapis/Dragon.

Lead Artistic Director Aaron Thielen heads the artistic team, with direction and choreography by Matt Raftery. Musical Direction is by Ryan T. Nelson, Sound Design by Robert Gilmartin, Lighting Design by Jesse Klug, Costume Design by Nancy Missimi and Properties Design is by Jesse Gaffney. The Musical Supervisor is Patti Garwood, and the Marriott Theatre orchestra is conducted by Jeff Bell.
