Recintos Del INBA Resaltan La Cultura De La Prevención En La Noche De Museos De Septiembre

Con un horario extendido de las 18:00 a las 22:00, para que un mayor número de personas pueda acercarse a conocer, vivir y apropiarse del arte, la cultura y la historia que resguardan, recintos del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) se sumarán el próximo miércoles 26 de septiembre a la tradicional Noche de Museos que desde 2010 se realiza en la Ciudad de México.

Flute And Harpsichord Take Center Stage In Mercury Chamber Orchestra's 2018-19 Expanded Neighborhood Series

Mercury Chamber Orchestra opens its 2018-19 Neighborhood Series this October 20 - 25 with Johann Sebastian Bach's spirited Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Featuring not one, but three instruments - the flute, violin and harpsichord, it is the only one of the six Brandenburg Concerti in which the harpsichord has a solo part. Written for a smaller ensemble, but with symphonic proportions, this sublime work features musicians playing both leading and supporting roles in an ever-changing pattern of give and take.

Chicago Philharmonic Celebrates Polish Classical Music With Ground-Breaking Five Day Festival

As Chicago's vibrant Polish community celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the regaining of Polish independence, Chicago Philharmonic honors the rich music traditions of Poland and the importance of the community in the cultural history of Chicago in Chicago Philharmonic Festival: Poland 2018, November 7-11. The ambitious festival will present world-class Polish musicians and soloists, Polish-Chicago music and arts organizations, music from Polish composers, the Chicago Philharmonic orchestra, and Artistic Director Scott Speck across five concerts presented in five days throughout the city of Chicago culminating in a free performance on November 11 - the day celebrating the 100th year of independence and Armistice Day.

Orchestra Of St. Luke's Launches Bach Festival

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

La Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Concluirá Su Temporada 2018 Con Más De 20 Conciertos, De Septiembre A Diciembre

Un total de 23 conciertos conforman el segundo segmento de la temporada 2018 de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (OSN), que se llevará a cabo del 7 de septiembre al 16 de diciembre, bajo la guía de su director titular, el maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto, en su sede habitual, el Palacio de Bellas Artes. Las sesiones se realizarán los viernes a las 20:00 y los domingos a las 12:15, excepto un concierto especial que se realizará en La Paz, Baja California Sur.

Early Music New York to Embark on The Grand Tour

In centuries past, people of means would devote a year or more to THE GRAND TOUR, traveling throughout Europe to broaden their appreciation of art, culture and western civilization. In the 2018-2019 season, Frederick Renz will guide EARLY MUSIC NEW YORK (EM/NY) in its own version of THE GRAND TOUR. Three programs will take place at First Church of Christ, Scientist, while all performances of its annual Christmas program will be at Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, where EM/NY is Artist-in-Residence.

International Touring Phenomenon FLYING BACH Returns For 10 City U.S. Tour

Back by popular demand! Flying Bach (https://flyingsteps.com/en/), starring Germany's four-time world champion Flying Steps breakdance troupe, returns to the U.S. for a 10-city tour including stops in Denver, Washington DC and Chicago. Flying Bach, celebrating their 25th anniversary, interprets the music of Johann Sebastian Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier", widely regarded as one of the most important works in the history of classical music. The result is an entertaining and electrifying production for people of all ages and demographics. Since its debut in 2014, the world's first classical music and breakdancing crossover show has sold more than a half million tickets and performed in 35 countries. Tickets go on sale August 10th.

BWW Review: THE EMERSON QUARTET BECOMES A QUINTET FOR A NIGHT at Alice Tully Hall At Lincoln Center

As has become the norm with the Mostly Mozart Festival in recent years, the Monday, July 30th Emerson String Quartet concert at Alice Tully Hall included some unusual programming choices. Aided and abetted by guest violist Ms. Nokuthula Ngwenyama, the quartet became a quintet and presented a fascinating program of less familiar works by some very familiar composers to the sold-out house.

Dana Marsh Named New Artistic Director of Washington Bach Consort

Washington Bach Consort, America's premiere Baroque chorus and orchestra, announces the appointment of their new Artistic Director, Dr. Dana Marsh. After the tragic passing of their beloved Founder and Artistic Director, J. Reilly Lewis, in June of 2016, the Consort has been without a formal Artistic Director. For their 40th season in 2017/2018, the Consort underwent a unique auditioning process with the intent of filling the role both for the season and beyond. They compiled a Search Committee to identify five candidates and presented a full season of concerts, each lead by one of the candidates. MOMIX, the company of dance illusionists under the direction of Moses Pendleton, brings its latest mix of multi-media magic to New York this summer at The Joyce Theater in New York City from July 24 - August 12.
