Back by popular demand! Flying Bach (https://flyingsteps.com/en/), starring Germany's four-time world champion Flying Steps breakdance troupe, returns to the U.S. for a 10-city tour including stops in Denver, Washington DC and Chicago. Flying Bach, celebrating their 25th anniversary, interprets the music of Johann Sebastian Bach's "The Well-Tempered Clavier", widely regarded as one of the most important works in the history of classical music. The result is an entertaining and electrifying production for people of all ages and demographics. Since its debut in 2014, the world's first classical music and breakdancing crossover show has sold more than a half million tickets and performed in 35 countries. Tickets go on sale August 10th.

The show itself combines Bach's classical masterpiece with modern electronic beats and clever choreography, a blending of the creative minds of Creative Director Vartan Bassil and the accomplished classical pianist, creative Director Christoph Hagel. "Flying Bach combines urban culture with classical influences, replacing ballerinas doing pirouettes with world champion breakdance artists," says Bassil.

The story follows seven dancers and one teacher, rehearsing for their big day as arguments, fights, disappointments and delights ensue. A mysterious woman joins the story and the conflicts climax: contemporary dance meets breakdance, man meets woman, desire meets refusal, and arrogance meets curiosity.

Germany's Flying Steps, founded by Vartan Bassil & Kadir "Amigo" Memis, are four-time breakdance world champions. As of today, more than 40 professional dancers are part of the company. In 2007, they also founded the Flying Steps Academy with more than 35 teachers and 2,100 students -- now the biggest urban dance school in Germany.

From October 2018 to the end of 2019, The Goethe-Institut, Germany's globally active cultural institute emphasizing the unique importance of transatlantic relations, will work promote projects within business, politics, education, culture and science in across the world and the U.S. Flying Bach is part of this program.
