The 65th Annual Drama Desk Awards have announced this year's presenters, featuring an all-star line-up of Drama Desk Awards alumni and friends.
In the past few weeks, we've watched the nominations roll in. Today the final crop of nominees have been revealed, all leading to next week's ultimate announcement- the 2018 Tony nominations.
t was announced today that Joey Parnes Productions and EMURSIVE (Randy Weiner, Arthur Karpati, andJonathan Hochwald, Principals) will bring The Public Theater's production of David Byrne and Alex Timbers' smash hit musical, Here Lies Love, back to The Public Theater's LuEsther Hall (425 Lafayette Street, New York City) for an open-ended commercial run. Under the direction of Alex Timbers,Here Lies Love played a critically raved-about, sold-out run last year at the same space, which was extended by popular demand four times. This new production will begin performances on Monday, March 24, 2014, and will officially open in early April. Here Lies Love was conceived by David Byrne, and features lyrics by Byrne, music by Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. The 58th Annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall.
Joey Parnes, the veteran Broadway producer and general manager who will end his stint as Interim Executive Director of the Public Theater this month, announced today the formation of Joey Parnes Productions.
