The first set of presenters have been announced for the 32nd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards which will be held on Monday, June 2 at 7:30pm at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Set to present are Tony Award-winners Hal Prince & Bebe Neuwirth, Emmy Award-winner Valerie Harper, Scandal's Joe Morton, Dancing with the Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Sandy Duncan. From a field of 12 local high school students, Jonah Gould, Mykaela Sterris and LeafRickard have been selected as the winners of the 2014 August Wilson Monologue Competition Los Angeles Regional finals. Contestants this year featured high school students from nine Southern California cities, who performed in the regional finals at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, Tuesday night, March 11, 2014. The top three student performers received scholarships and the opportunity to perform again in New York City. The August Wilson Monologue Competition is presented by the Center Theatre Group Affiliates, a volunteer organization that supports Center Theatre Group's education and community partnerships programs.

Actors Orlando Bloom, Robert Sean Leonard, Joe Morton, and Condola Rashad will perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall in the LA Phil's Shakespeare-themed TchaikovskyFest concert led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Wednesday, February 26 at 8 p.m. The program (presented without intermission) features Tchaikovsky's three Fantasy-Overtures inspired by Shakespeare plays - Hamlet, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. Preceding each of the fantasy-overtures, the cast of actors will perform key scenes from each play, with Orlando Bloom as Romeo, Joe Morton as Prospero, and Condola Rashad as Juliet. Kate Burton, the prolific Tony-nominated stage and screen actress and daughter of the late Richard Burton, directs this all-star cast.
