Previews begin tonight, Saturday, October 4th.

Mayor Gavin Newsom proclaimed 'A WICKED Day in San Francisco,' welcoming the international phenomenon back to the city where it had its world premiere. At a special Homecoming Party in Union Square, WICKED Producer David Stone accepted a proclamation from Luis Cancel, Director of Cultural Affairs for the City and County of San Francisco on behalf of Mayor Newsom. Producer David Stone was in San Francisco for the Homecoming as tickets went on sale for the open-ended engagement of WICKED, which begins performances at the Orpheum Theatre January 27, 2009. He was joined by cast members performing in Union Square for a group of enthusiastic fans.

SHN is pleased to announce that tickets for the international phenomenon WICKED go on sale Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10 AM. WICKED returns home to San Francisco for an extended engagement beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Orpheum Theatre. In conjunction with tickets going on sale, a very special free fan appreciation homecoming party will take place on Friday, September 26 in Union Square. The event will be hosted by Don Bleu from Star Radio and Jessica Aguirre from NBC TV and will also feature performances from the show.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (David Van Asselt, Artistic Director and Sandra Coudert, Managing Director) has announced a two-week extension (through October 11) of Lady, the provocative new play by Craig Wright (The Pavilion). Directed by Dexter Bullard (Bug), the critically acclaimed production is being produced in association with Barrow Street Theatre. Performances began Thursday, August 28th, 2008. Opening night was Monday, September 8th at 7pm. The show will run now run through Saturday, October 11, 2008.

The Casting Society of America has announced that producer Thomas Schumacher, President of Disney Theatrical Group, will be this year's recipient of the special 'New York Apple Award' at the 2008 Artios Awards for outstanding achievement in casting.

This year our free family event will take place at Lindley Hall (part of the Royal Horticultural Halls) where peoeple can all come together to celebrate everything WICKED from the past year. The first preview for '9 to 5: The Musical' has been delayed for the second time and will now take place on Tuesday, Sept 9, 2008, at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. Audiences for the previously-announced previews on September 3, 4 and 5 will be moved to other performances. This change is being made to meet the technical demands of this world premiere musical. Two performances have been added: a matinee preview on Sept 14th and a 6:30 p.m. performance on the closing date of Oct.19.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on September 5 for THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD NOT TAKEN, a one-night-only, all-star benefit performance featuring scenes and songs from the original drafts of WICKED. Directed by Matt Lenz, the benefit will take place on Monday, October 27 at 7:30pm at the Gershwin Theatre (222 West 51st Street). The evening's proceeds will be donated to the New York Restoration Project. Celebrity casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

The final block of tickets for WICKED at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood goes on sale Sunday, September 7.
