GOD OF CARNAGE Cast Welcomes Play's Translator Christopher Hampton

Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway production of Terrence McNally's MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth, opens tonight at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The limited engagement was recently extended due to popular demand with tickets now on sale through Sunday, August 21.

Guthrie Theatre Celebrates Christopher Hampton in 2012 Season

The Guthrie Theater will kick off its 50th anniversary season with a three-play celebration of prolific British playwright and screenwriter Christopher Hampton, whose adaptation of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning comedy God of Carnage is playing on the Theater's McGuire Proscenium Stage through August 7, 2011. A Guthrie commission of Appomattox, a new play based on his original 2007 opera collaboration with composer Philip Glass, will be presented in the fall of 2012 alongside two of Hampton's other works, the titles of which will be announced at a later date.

The Guthrie Theater today announced star casting for its three fall productions: Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing (September 10 - November 5, 2011 on the Wurtele Thrust Stage), Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney's The Burial At Thebes (September 24 - November 6, 2011 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage) and Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Rapp's new play The Edge of Our Bodies (October 22 - November 20, 2011 in the Dowling Studio).

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore, which drops anchor on the Wurtele Thrust Stage June 18 - August 28, 2011. Guthrie Artistic Director Joe Dowling helms this splash hit musical which, as previously announced, will feature Twin Cities actor/singers Robert O. Berdahl and Christina Baldwin as Captain Corcoran and Little Buttercup, respectively. Joining the pair will be Constantine Germanacos (Ralph Rackstraw), Seri Johnson (Cousin Hebe), Heather Lindell (Josephine), Jason Simon (Dick Deadeye) and J. Tyler Whitmer (Bob Becket) - all five making their Guthrie debuts - in addition to Robb McKindles (Bill Bobstay) and Peter Thomson (Sir Joseph Porter).

Guthrie Hosts 'The Office' Star Rainn Wilson in Conversation, 6/17

The Guthrie Theatre has announced that it will host former company member and Emmy Award nominee Rainn Wilson (The Office) in conversation with Guthrie Director Joe Dowling on Sunday, July 17 at 1pm. The pair will discuss Wilson's celebrated career in theater, television and film.

Guthrie Theatre to Include ROMAN HOLIDAY, HAY FEVER, et al. in 2011-12 Season
