JPAS Presents I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE, Closes 5/29

Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) recently remounted their production of I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE (Book and Lyrics by Joe DiPietro with Music by Jimmy Roberts) on stage at Le Petit Theatre (616 St. Peters Street in New Orleans). The production will conclude on May 29, 2011.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2011 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Twelve of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.

MEMPHIS' Shubert Alley BBQ Moved to June 3

Today the 2010 Tony winning Best Musical MEMPHIS announced a partnership with The Great Atlantic Pacific & Tea Company (A&P) to raise money for New York-area Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Beginning July 4, 2011, customers at all A&P, Pathmark, Food Emporium, Waldbaum's, Food Basics, Super Fresh and Best Cellars stores will be asked to make a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at the register. Those who donate will also receive a special discount offer for tickets to MEMPHIS on Broadway. The promotion will run through the end of July in more than 360 stores along the eastern seaboard.

BWW Reviews: OC's 3D Theatricals Revives ALL SHOOK UP

Using almost all of the same cast and elements from their initial 2010 production of the Elvis musical ALL SHOOK UP (at its former home in the OC Pavilion in Santa Ana), the Orange County-based 3D Theatricals is once again mounting a newer, more rousingly-amplified revival in their new home at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton through May 29, 2011. The results? A cute, crowd-pleaser of a show performed by an awesome cast that beams their inherent silliness like a badge of honor.

Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announced that the Alley Theatre's 65th Season beginning in September 2011 will include two world premieres, Elizabeth Egloff's epic play Ether Dome and Theresa Rebeck's black comedy What We're Up Against, (the latter in a rolling world premiere that includes theatres in San Francisco and Chicago), and the Outer Critics Circle Award-winning rock musical The Toxic Avenger by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan, winners of last year's Best Musical Tony Award for Memphis.

This event coincides with the release of Cousin Brucie's paperback edition, Rock & Roll...And the Beat Goes On; which is a tribute to the great musicians of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Autographed copies of the book are available at the theatre during his show appearances.
