Olney Theatre Center, a Mid-Atlantic destination for professional theater performance and education, concludes its critically-acclaimed 76thAnniversary season with the area professional premiere of the 'Under the Sea' musical, Disney's The Little Mermaid, November 12 - December 28, 2014 on the Mainstage. Starring Helen Hayes Award-winner Donna Migliaccio and newcomer Lara Zinn, the classic musical features memorable songs such as 'A Part of Your World' and 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' as well as the Academy Award®-Winning Best Original Song 'Under the Sea'.
The biggest Monday Musicals to date took place at XL Cabaret on Monday, October 21st. Revelers celebrated XL Promotional Director Dougie Meyer's birthday and sang and danced along to VJ Tony Built's music and visuals from some of Broadway's biggest shows, which could be viewed across a half-dozen screens throughout the club. ALICE: A NEW MUSICAL, with book, music and lyrics by Andrew Barbato and Lesley DeSantis, will be presented as part of the 2011 Midtown International Theatre Festival. Performances will be July 20th at 8:00pm, July 23rd at 8:30pm, July 24th at 1:30pm and July 30th at 11:00am, at the June Havoc Theatre (part of the Abingdon Theatre Complex at 312 W 36th St). Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students and seniors.

Songwriting duo Sam Carner and Derek Gregor-the team behind the award-winning NYMF hit Unlock'd-will showcase their songs on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 8pm in a concert titled Carner & Gregor's Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza. Hosted by Hair's Andrew Kober and Avenue Q's Sarah Stiles, the event will bring together nine of the most-talented musical theatre students currently studying at schools across the U.S. The concert will take place at the new East Village venue DROM (85 Avenue A between 5th & 6th Streets).
