The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced today that open submissions to the Next Link Project, which guarantees production slots in the 2012 Festival, began on September 12th.

NYMF's Next Broadway Sensation Competition is returning for its sixth year and will take place at New World Stages on three subsequent Saturdays - September 17th, September 24th, and October 1st.

It is 1896 in the very poorest part of Ireland and Jamie McRuin (Michael Mahany) avoids a marriage arranged by Owen Roe Tavish (Gavriel Savit) in the only way an honorable man can - he commits suicide. BUT he is saved from drowning by a Fairy Queen who promises him three wishes - the first one is travel and he joins distant cousin O'Malley (Chad Ackerman) in Atlanta.

Larry Daggett (Ragtime, Candide), Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny and Sylvia, OneNight with Fanny Brice), and Erin Mackey (Wicked, Sondheim on Sondheim) are set to star ina one-night-only performance of Irving Berlin's last Broadway musical Mr. President, presented July 18 in Manhattan to benefit the Actors Fund.
